Lane Southern Orchard Muscadine Cider Blush

Lane Southern Orchard Muscadine Cider Blush
This was different. When I think of cider, I think of apples, but this was not related to apples in the slightest. It contained muscadine juice, whatever that is. Although I don't know what it is, I can tell you what it tastes like. Remember when you were under 21 or straightedge and you celebrated events like birthdays, holidays, or graduations and you drank non-alcoholic cranberry champagne? This tasted just like it but it wasn't carbonated. It's just like that and it's very good. Also, I don't know what a typical "blush" tastes like so I can't compare it to that.

I don't know why they called it cider because it would be considered a juice. To add insult to injury, this drink contains 60% juice.

Also, for the record, there was stuff in it. Was it muscadine? Was it something else? I don't care. I like stuff in my drink. I do not like sludge in my drink, typically. There is a difference.

Jay got this drink for me while he was on tour with Failures' Union and the label says it was from Georgia. So either get it from their website or drive on down to Georgia and get a strange barrel shaped bottle.

Lane Southern Orchard Peach Cider

Lane Southern Orchard Peach Cider
Another cider I got on my trip down south. When you're at a peach farm in Georgia, and they have peach cider, you buy a bottle. I think that might actually be a law.
I don't really know what I expected this to taste like. Actually I do. I expected a little bit of a fall flavor, but you know what? They don't really have the fall where peaches grow. This is very good nonetheless. It's slightly different than a peach juice, but it's not as far off as apple cider is from apple juice. One of my friends said that it tasted like the juice in the bottom of a can of peaches. I can see that, but it's better.

Lane Southern Orchard Strawberry Cider

Lane Southern Orchard Strawberry Cider
So, I'm on tour right now, and we have Bedford Falls from Wales with us. We've been trying to show them some regional greatness as we travel around the U.S. While driving through Georgia (blasting R.E.M. of course) I saw a sign for a peach farm, so of course we had to stop. Hoping to get the world's greatest peaches, we were let down to find they weren't in season. I was able to pick up some unusual ciders though. This is one of them.
Imagine going out on the farm. It's hot. Sweat is beading up on your brow. You need to finish picking these strawberries though. If you don't, the birds will get them. So you gather a bushel. Now you're back in the kitchen. Hey! Rinse those off! What are you some kind of savage? Okay so now you've sliced them up. Pour a great big helping of sugar on top and let it soak into the juices. Take a bite. Take a big...bigger bite. Now you know exactly how this wonderful beverage tastes.
