Pacific Simply Tea Green Tea

Pacific Simply Tea Green Tea
For my final trick, I will make this unsweetened green tea good. Wait, does that make this drink sound like it's bad to start? Am I saying this out loud? This is the worst magic...er...illusion show I've ever done. I think that me saying that made it worse. My boss is going to fire me for this performance. Kids, here's a handful of quarters. Pull them out of each other's ears.

What am I going to do? This tea is pretty good and not everyone is going to think it's bad. It's got a good taste through and through, but these kids won't appreciate it since there isn't sugar pouring out of the top of it.

Jimmy, don't put that quarter in your nose. We're doing ears only.

Where else could I work? I've got illusions running through my blood. I can do so many things that people only dream about with a single deck of cards except play poker. That's something I could never get a hold of. Cards aren't a game, though. Cards are serious business. This tea is serious business. No sweetness, all goodness. Maybe I'll get a job at the...JIMMY! DON'T PUT THAT QUARTER IN TOM'S NOSE EITHER! WE'RE ONLY DOING EARS! GOD!

I'm great with kids, but I don't want to be a teacher. Maybe I'll just get a job at a bank. I can do some cool stuff with money. I don't think that they would want to see their money disappear, though. I know customers like to get in and out of a bank and the usage of smoke and mirrors might be prohibited in a bank.

JIMMY! STOP IT WITH THE NOSE ALREADY!

Pacific Simply Coffee Latte

Pacific Simply Coffee Latte
I seem to be reviewing way more coffee drinks than I expected to. This one's not too bad. It has tons of milk and tons of sugar. Just what the non-coffee drinker ordered. It tastes like coffee flavored toffees. Latte, that means coffee for kids, right? Is it considered a gateway drink to harder coffees? Are there programs at elementary schools to warn against this? They tell horror stories of kids pushing lattes on their classmates on the playground. Then it's them in coffee shops trying mocha on the weekends with their friends. It then cuts to them working in a cubicle downing obscene amounts of black coffee just to make it through the day. A video like that would steer me away from the caffeinated devil.

Pacific Simply Mate Citrus Lychee

Pacific Simply Mate Citrus Lychee
Sorry about having two Pacific drinks in a row. As many of you, my fridge at work has decided to quit so I am not left with many drinks. Due to this, and the fact that the North East United States is going to a deep freeze (-4 on my car's thermometer), I had "nature's fridge" which is essentially opening up a window, placing my drink on it, waiting, and then drinking an ice cold beverage. It might have been better than the fridge since in about two hours, this guy was cold as can be. It had actual frost and ice in it initially and it turned it into a Slushie®. Since I can't review a drink that is not in it's designated/requested physical state, I left it out for a while to kind of calm down.

Once calm, I took a drink. It's good. It doesn't have a gross taste, as many lychee related drinks have. It's wicked bitter, but that's mate for you. You get a little citrus to round it out. This has been my favorite mate from them as nicely blended and isn't slammed with too much flavor and not enough natural mate flavor or visa versa.

Pacific Simply Tea Peach

Pacific Simply Tea Peach
There are so many Pacific teas with so many similar tastes. When a company does something well, they should stick to what they know. Pacific knows how to make a really good lightly sweetened tea drink. My hat off to them. They use high quality green tea leaves. Brew it up. Add a little organic fruit juice. Throw in a dash of cane juice, and call it a day. It's mostly tea with just a hint of fruit. It's great and it's consistent. Although I have enjoyed every flavor I've tried, every time I'm about to try a new one I find myself hoping that the fruit flavor is just a little bit stronger than the last one. I should just be grateful that there is a great tea out there that's not full of obscene amounts of sugar. So Pacific, my teeth and health thank you. My dentist and doctor do not.

Pacific Simply Coffee Vanilla Latte

Pacific Simply Coffee Vanilla Latte
I believe that in high school every group of friends has a restaurant that they hang out in all the time. For a lot of people it's a local diner or a Dennys. For my friends it was a Perkins. We probably spend almost as much time in that restaurant each week as the average person spends at a full time job. We never caused any problems, so the wait staff would let us stay for as long as we wanted. Since we were in high school we had to act like grown ups and intellectuals. What better way to do that then by drinking insane amounts of coffee? Keep in mind that I don't like coffee, but what is a kid to do? Sure I could have ordered a Cherry Coke, but then I would have had to deal with being mocked by my closest friends for the rest of the night. My solution was I would dilute the hell out of my coffee. I would put four creams and eight packets of sugar per mug of steaming coffee. My goal was to just make it taste like sugary milk, with just a hint of coffee flavor. Oh the lengths one will go to in order to avoid a good ribbing from their best friends. This is exactly what the coffee I used to drink would have tasted like if two of the four creamers I used had been vanilla flavored.

Pacific Simply Tea Kiwi Mango

Pacific Simply Tea Kiwi Mango
I have been...iffy? No, not iffy, I might be as apologetic as to say disappointed with a lot of the Pacific drinks. It's not their fault as their drinks are, if anything, the most consistent drinks I've ever had. Everything is very close to one another and if you're not a fan of one, you might want to write the rest of them off.

BUT WAIT!

Don't do that. This Kiwi Mango tea is the best one I've had so far. I think that their spot on with green tea with the strong presence of mango. It is a very good flavor. I was a large fan of this drink and I am actually disappointed that it's down to the one sip that is left. This is a tea that I could get behind buying on several occasions. It's a good stand by drink. It's a recommendable drink. Pacific should be proud of this one. They did good work.

Pacific Simply Mate Lemon Ginger

Pacific Simply Mate Lemon Ginger
I like these Pacific mates because they don't try to disguise the taste of the mate. They let the flavor fly, adding some subtle flavors that just give you a little hint of something different. There is no burn from the ginger at all, but you can tell that it's there. If you don't like mate then this is certainly not for you, but if you do, I highly suggest trying this entire line.

Pacific Simply Tea Tangerine

Pacific Simply Tea Tangerine
Hmm. Sometimes you drink something and it makes you think. I feel that Pacific has one vat of tea that they make and mix in with all of their drinks, and why shouldn't they? Why would they make multiple vats of the same drink to use in different drinks? Part of going back to the same company is that you like something that they do. The green tea used for Pacific drinks is very bitter and very long lasting. If you like that, hey, you're welcome I found them for you. If you like a quick bite and then a prompt release, you probably won't be crazy. Look, these drinks are good and they don't mess around with flavors and additives and stuff. Little bit of sugar, lotta bit of green tea, moderate bit of flavor. It's tea first, after all. Why should they add something to it? Oh, so that they can sell more product? Good idea and smart thinking, marketing department.

This tea tastes like a bitter tea with the rind/zest of a tangerine. It's made from real orange juice concentrate and natural tangerine flavor, but they use it in a "gourmet" sense and not a "BAM with flavor" sense. Do I punish them for it? No. They are clearly trying to target people with more sophisticated taste buds. I do have this, but maybe I've drunk too many Pacific drinks this week and my palate has become bored.

I'll give it some time and come back for more later.

Pacific Simply Tea Wild Berry

Pacific Simply Tea Wild Berry
Not too shabby. It's pretty close to if you were to make iced green tea and then (somehow) flavor it with natural flavors. Maybe juice wild berries and pour the juice in your tea. Sweeten it a little bit and you are done. Enjoy your wild fruits.

It was pretty bitter and left a bit of it behind which was fine with me since I wanted to go back anyhow.

Pacific Simply Mate Peach Passion

Pacific Simply Mate Peach Passion
Diving further into the world of yerba mate. Pacific makes a quality product. It hits you in waves. First the mate flavor hits you and directly after the blend of peach and passionfruit. The fruit flavor isn't too strong, which is nice because it let's the mate shine.
I also enjoy that yerba mate has natural caffeine in it. It gives you a slight boost, without chemicals and jitters.

Pacific Simply Mate Yerba Mate

Pacific Simply Mate Yerba Mate
This might be my first yerba mate and I don't know what to think. I'm unaccustomed to the flavor and don't really know how to describe it. For those who haven't had it, I'll do my best as a virgin myself. Let's start off by stating that this is straight yerba mate without any additional fruits or whatever, just a little sugar and citric acid. It tastes like a bitter green tea, but smaller. Does smaller make sense? Green tea has a bold, present bitterness. This has a smaller taste and a smaller bitterness. I don't know if I'd say "less" because it just seems less present. It has a light citrus taste, but that could be because of the citric acid. It's very lightly sweetened and one kid said that he doesn't like unsweetened tea when he drank it. After a couple sips, you can tell that there is a tiny bit of sugar in it.

I don't like it too much, but I'm not going to penalize Pacific for that. That's on me and me alone. One person that likes and knows yerba mate said that it was good and he'd drink it again.

I know that it might be hard to take this review as helpful, but it's a new taste. If you like a nice, bitter green tea and are looking for something different, give this a try. It could be your new thing.

Pacific Simply Coffee Mocha

Pacific Simply Coffee Mocha
For someone who hates coffee so much, I sure have been drinking a decent amount of mocha lately. I keep telling myself that it's not coffee and that it's just hot chocolate (or cold hot chocolate) with just a splash of coffee in it. When in reality it's the other way around. Whatever deal with it. It's tastes good. Regular coffee is still gross.
I'm amused that the word "organic" is used five times in the ingredients list for this. This is what you would expect from mocha. It's coffee, chocolate and milk all mixed together. It's a bit creamier than other ones I've had, but I'm perfectly fine with that.
The packaging is nice as well. I've never had a personal sized beverage in a package like this (just some large juices for multiple servings). You're more than likely supposed to pour it into a glass, but I like drinking things out of the container. Who needs extra dishes to wash? Not me. What do I look like I'm rich and have a maid, or one of those newfangled dish washer machines?
