Third St. Unsweetened Black Tea

Third St. Unsweetened Black Tea
Sometimes there just isn't much to say about a drink. I feel bad saying that because it makes it seems like the drink is bad or uninspiring. The thing is that this is just black tea, and what can you say about that other than it tastes like black tea. It's exactly what it should be, and I really enjoy it. It doesn't taste like cheap tea, and it doesn't taste like it's been steeped for too long. When I want an unsweetened black tea, this is exactly what I would hope I'd get. So there you go. It was a boring review for a product that may sound boring, but is just right.

Third St. Half and Half

Third St. Half and Half
This is good. I don't really need to beat around the bush with this. It's got a great lemonade flavor. It's got a decent iced tea flavor. The lemonade is "overpowering" but not bad, it just over shadows, a better word that I don't know why I didn't use, the iced tea. There is no pulp, which is fine. I'm reviewing it full. There is no pulp. It's in writing. If you told me there was a trace of cinnamon I wouldn't call you a liar. There is a secret ingredient in there somewhere and I don't care if I don't know what it is. It's there and it's special. Is it "love?" Maybe. Is it cinnamon? Like I said, maybe.

This company is doing well with us. Will they stay there? Stay tuned to find out.

Third St. Slightly Sweet Green Tea

Third St. Slightly Sweet Green Tea
Marc, I feel bad saying this, but you need to lay off the sugar man. I love coming over her to hang out all the time, and I appreciate that you go out of your way to make iced green tea for me, since you know that I don't like coffee, but man you really go overboard with the sweetener. I swear if I let my glass settle there would be at least a half inch of solid sugar at the bottom. Are you trying to give me the diabetes Marc?

I'm not trying to hurt your feelings, but for the past two weeks I've been sneaking in my own tea, dumping your sugar mess into a plant and refilling the cup from my bottle. I would have kept going on like this forever to save your feelings, but it seems your plant has died, so now I have that to feel bad about as well. Anyways, I understand if you don't want to make me tea anymore, I mean I don't want you to feel obligated, I'm a grown man, I can fend for myself when it comes to beverages, but just in case you do, give this a try. See how it's just slightly sweet? There is seriously just the smallest tad of sugar in here so that the sweetness doesn't overpower the quasi floral taste of the tea. Sure it's a little bitter, but that's what I like about it. It tastes real, like you brewed some nice loose leaf tea and put it in the fridge to cool with less than a teaspoon of sugar in the entire batch.

What's that, I shouldn't feel bad? You've been lying to be the whole time and you haven't been making the tea? You just buy jugs at the gas station and put it in a different container so that I would like you more? Marc that's just weird and completely unnecessary. I mean who really needs their host to buy specialty drinks when they provide their guests with obscene amounts of soft pretzels like you do? I mean I could do just fine with water, but if you really want to buy me green tea, since you obviously will never make it yourself, grab me some Third Street.

Third St. Unsweetened Green Tea

Third St. Unsweetened Green Tea
If I had a doppelganger, I assume he would live eternally on the other side of the world so we can never meet. Whenever I go to Australia, he comes to the states. We can never and will never be in the same place at once. If I moved to Argentina, my doppelganger would live in China. Why do I mention myself? Well I drink copious amounts of unsweetened black tea. Copious. I wouldn't be surprised if I drink a gallon a week. My Chinese counterpart would be drinking unsweetened green tea, naturally.

If I would be stuck on an island, this wouldn't be a bad iced tea to have. It's bitter and tastes like a nice, solid green tea but is still refreshing. The bitterness of a green tea is something special. It pulls out some sweetness from somewhere (magic) that makes it all come together.

If I drink that much black tea and it makes me as happy as it does, I'd like to think that there is a happy kid on the other side of the world that is just as happy drinking green tea buy the quarter gallon.

It doesn't matter, but you should know that I did my "hole through the center of the world" research on this site which is pretty cool.

Third St. Chai Black Tea Latte Honey Vanilla

Third St. Chai Black Tea Latte Honey Vanilla
Times like this are when my science skills get to shine. What sits in front of me is a delicious honey vanilla chai tea concentrate. There is a whole lot of concentrate in this bottle. The ingredients say that it's enough for eight servings, but I just made a glass, and it barely made a dent in the bottle.

To prove I am a scientist I got out some measuring cups so that I could follow the directions exactly. When it comes to reviewing concentrates like this it's pretty crucial to get it just right, or the favor could be completely off. Yeah, something as simple as that is still science, deal with it. The directions say to mix it with milk or milk substitute. Since I am not proud of my mutant gene that allows me to drink other creature's milk (oh man Professor X would be so disappointed in me) I went with unsweetened almond milk. I also chose to make it the cold way instead of hot, as it's summer and who wants to drink hot tea at 3PM in the blazing hot sun?

So I followed the directions and made myself a nice chilled glass of honey vanilla chai tea, and it is gosh darn delicious. It definitely tastes more vanilla than most chai teas I've had before. You also can taste the honey, which I didn't really expect. If this is what was served to me after I just shelled over nearly $5 at a local coffee shop, I wouldn't be upset or feel cheated. In fact if I didn't know any better I really wouldn't know that it was made from a concentrate. Some of the spices didn't really mix in all that well, and I would get sip that were chock full of clove and cinnamon, but I blame that on my mix of choice. I feel like they may have mixed in better with cow milk. I actually decided to drink a second glass, and I upped the almond milk ratio a little bit, and it turned out more my speed. That's the joy of concentrates, you can make them as weak or as strong as you'd like. Man, I really can't wait to try this hot once the sun goes down.

Third St. Organic Iced Tea Mint Green Tea

Third St. Organic Iced Tea Mint Green Tea
Hazel, your breath is terrible. I'm sorry. My darling, I love you. I really do. We've been together for a solid two months and I have to be honest; it's often hard to talk to you. I'm sorry. I am. I want to be the man you want and I hope that man is if one thing, honest. I am an honest man, my sweet. For that reason I have to tell you the truth. The truth is that I love you and your breath smells.

I don't want you to change because I love you for who you are and that includes your stank breath so I've brought you something. Do you know how you like unsweetened tea? I've bought you unsweetened tea. Not just any unsweetened tea but mint unsweetened tea. That should help combat that pesky halitosis. It's not too minty, either so you don't have to worry about drinking mouthwash. Another wonderful thing is that it's a concentrate so you've got so many glasses of this stuff coming your way. It's got a decent green tea taste with just a hint of mint to fight your paint peeling breath.

You understand? I'm so happy, my darling. I only want the best for us and I've been thinking about this for quite some time. You are a wonderful person and I wish us the best of luck in the future. I've made you a gallon of tea and I recommend you start drinking it now.

Third St. Organic Ginger Lemonade

Third St. Organic Ginger Lemonade
This is the first concentrate that I am reviewing for Thirsty Dudes. Mike has done a couple, but I just want to come right out and say that I'm not a fan of concentrates. No matter what the instructions say I can never get the proportions correct. I've followed them to a T and measured everything out, and they just don't taste right. Then one of my friends will come along and mix it by eye and it will be delicious. The same thing goes with rice. I cannot make rice without either a mass amount of it to the bottom of the pot, or having it turn out soggy. I am just an idiot.

For further proof of myself being an idiot. I took this bottle down from a high up shelf to day to grab a drink that was behind it for a friend. When I placed it back on the shelf I accidentally did it so it sat there precariously for about 3 seconds before it tumbled to the floor and exploded everywhere. You would think a person's first response would be to start cleaning it up, but my instinct was to quickly grab what was left of the bottle and pour the remaining precious concentrate into a glass. Only after it was secured did I go about cleaning up the mess. Then I went back to work. When I was done I then cleaned up the mess again because even though I mopped the floor felt like that of a discount movie theatre. Not something you want in your home. Now that I am sure the floor has been thoroughly cleaned I am sitting here with what is left of the concentrate. After I mixed in the proper 3 parts water to one part concentrate I had maybe enough to half fill an 8oz glass. I took a few tiny sips and I have to say, it doesn't taste like something I mixed at home. It was strong, lemony and oh man did that ginger have a kick to it. I added just a little bit more water to calm it down a little and I think for once I got a mix right. It certainly doesn't taste like natural lemonade, but to be honest nothing is ever going to replicate that flavor properly unless it's just lemon juice sugar and water mixed together. The fact that it doesn't taste “real” doesn't detract from it at all though. This is a whole other beast altogether. It tastes like a lemon drink with a healthy dose of ginger in it. My ladyfriend couldn't handle the ginger, so if you're not a fan of the burn I would water this down a bunch more. Now I am a bit disgruntled that I had at most 6oz of this drink when I feel I could have had several gallons. I must learn to be more observant of my surroundings.

Third St. Organic Iced Tea Peach Black Tea

Third St. Organic Iced Tea Peach Black Tea
Concentrates are a daring thing. The companies put their trust in you to mix accordingly and not mess it up. The directions are always clear and it's a good thing. The last thing the company wants is for you to not read the directions and slam a big mouthful of overpowering syrup. Kids like to do that, though. Kids thick they're so tough. Oh, you mixed Kool-Aid in an appropriate, eight ounce glass? That's cool. I made a packet of it in a shot glass. That's what companies are afraid of.

Since I am quasi-responsible, I mixed the appropriate amount in a glass and brought it back to the table. It's early, not terribly, but it's early. I didn't want something super strong that was going to destroy my precious teeth. I don't like peaches the fruit, but I do like this drink. It's a great iced tea that tastes like something that I didn't mix with my bare hands. It didn't taste like I made it with my bare hands because I used a spoon but the mix is pretty good. It had a very fruity peach taste and the tea was crisp. Thank you "real" sugar.

I used four tablespoons and I have so much more left in that bottle. This is a wise investment that you will never look back on. Enjoy your time with peach iced tea, friends.
