Cintron Guava Ade

Cintron Guava Ade
Margaret, I've grown tired of lemonade! I know we're in our twilight years and that we moved down to Florida where is perpetually sunny and way too hot, but there has to be other ways to beat the heat. For the past eight months that we've been here, you're been pouring the stuff down my throat on a daily basis. I know you've tried to spice it up by switching brands, but after awhile a tongue can only take so much lemon. It's gotten to the point where I feel the same about you bringing me out a glass of lemonade as I do with taking my pills. Margaret, don't bring up those pills, I'm trying to keep this conversation G rated.

Yes I know that nothing beats the heat like a Slurpie, but at my age can I really afford to drink that much sugar on a daily basis? You'd be mistaking me for Wilford Brimley in no time. Aren't there any other "ades" out there? I had some orangeade before, but that was just gross sugar water. If it was made with real oranges then I could see it being good. Does that exist Margaret? Not that you know of, huh? Now Margaret why would you say such a thing as "It's good we live in such a Latin part of the country"? Are you turning out to be racist after all these years? I thought I knew you. Oh you meant it because that way more stores would carry Cintron and they make a guava ade. Now that sounds delicious, but I think that may still be racist somehow. Now this guava ade, it's not just sugar water is it? I want it to taste like lemonade, but with guava replacing the lemon flavor. I also want it sweet, but as I said not overly sugary. Is that what it's like? Well I'm glad it's exactly what I wanted. Now let's take our Rascals down to the corner store and pick a few up. Try not to give any Puerto Ricans the stink eye. I've got my eye on you, you hate monger.

Rob's Really Good Chocolate

Rob's Really Good Chocolate
For the first time on US soil, we bring to you, chocolate tea. "Oh, that's so American." you say to yourself. "They'll put chocolate in everything." and to that I respond with this:
Chocolate is delicious, can be good for you, and is no different than adding fruit to flavor your food so get off your high horse, a phrase that has never made sense to me, and drink this.
Are "high horses" a breed of horse? Are they just tall horses? If you have the tallest horse in a pack of horses...herd of horses...gaggle of horses, does that mean you have the "high horse"? I don't really care if I'm right or wrong because I'm picturing people getting out a piece of wood and drawing lines on it like you would every year your kids grow up and you want to make a growth chart just to see who has the tallest horse. It's a hilarious vision that I would like to retain for quite some time.

You like sweet tea, right? You like chocolate, right? You like experimenting by assuming that putting two things you like together can't be wrong, right? Welp, so does Rob and he made something really nice. Essentially, all he did is make some quality black tea and put some cocoa powder in it and make this gem. Yes, more happened than that, but I'm guessing that you could do close to this by doing what I described above. It's really good. Better colder than now, but nonetheless, pretty exceptional and quite different than any tea you've ever had before, unless of course, you've had this before and in that case, it's quite parallel.

Honest Ade Orange Mango

Honest Ade Orange Mango
If drinks, the liquid themselves could be played on the radio, this would be a Top 40 hit. Much like Beyonce, this drink is approachable by all, doesn't offend anyone, and is safe with kids and adults alike. Unlike Beyonce, I don't want to take this home more than a few times. It's very...standard. A bit watered down, which I like, but it's nothing to call yo' mama about. Why did I channel Wilmer Valderrama in that last sentence? Mostly because I can do whatever I want in this text area. This tastes like orange mangos. If that's what you want, wicked. You're set. Buy a case of this guy.

I guess it takes a strong man, or an idiot to turn down a drink that aims to quench everyone. This drink is organic. It's as good for you as juice can be, and it tastes exactly like it's supposed to. So why am I "dissing" it? Well, unlike Vince Vaughn, this site puts me in a position To "Dis" Or "Give Props" to drinks. This drink is just too darn easy.

Rob's Really Good Mango Tango

Rob's Really Good Mango Tango
It's a little known fact, but this beverage actually inspired the Ted Nugent song "Wango Tango." You may say, "but Thirsty Dudes the timeline is way off. "Wango Tango" was released in 1980, Robs is a fairly new company." That may be true my friends, but the mango drink was actually created by Rob's mother, it is the drink that made Rob want to create drinks of his own. His mother also had a tryst with Senior Nugent back in the late 70's. Theodore was obsessed with this sweet treat of hers and she made a jug of it for him every time he went out bow hunting. Momma Rob was also very concerned with being "green" and the environment, so she would only eat meat that Teddy hunted. She's the one who always said, "You gotta kill 'em to grill 'em." She taught the Nug oh so much about life.

After she broke off the brief relationship Ted tried to win her back by writing "Mango Tango" for her (the producer made him change the name due to the unpopularity of the fruit in the late 70's). Her response was that he could have her again, but only if the song about her and her nicely thinned out mango juice (it really was a precursor to the flavor/consistency of Vitamin Water) made it into the Billboard Top 10. Unfortunately it only got to number 86, and they were never to meet again. The only question there is left to answer is "Could Ted Nugent actually be Rob's biological father?" Come back never round of flavors to find out!

OKF Aloe Vera King Strawberry Taste

OKF Aloe Vera King Strawberry Taste
Grandpa was the king of cookies. Whenever we'd go to visit he had a smorgasbord of confectioneries that he would sneak us when no one was looking. Grandma on the other hand loved her hard candies. Her assortment would change, but there would always be the strawberry candy in the mix. You know the ones whose wrappers are printed to look like the fruit. As soon as I tasted this drink it made me think about those candies. They were never my favorite, of course they couldn't compete with grandpa's cookies, but I never turned one down. I feel the same way about this drink. It's not my favorite aloe drink, but if it was offered to me I would always happily take it. It has average sized aloe chunks in it, which almost come off as bits of berries. It may not be the best, but it's a nice walk down memory lane. Drink one and think of your grandmother.

Oggu Sparkling Cola

Oggu Sparkling Cola
You know, this is a good cola. It's good because I've spent the last twenty years drinking "common" colas. The Netherlands have stepped it up a notch and have released this 100% organic cola and although other companies have done it, this tastes different. Coloring is done by organic caramel and there is natural citrus for bonus flavoring. Who doesn't want anything bonus in life? I know who does and thinks you do; the Dutch. Them and their wooden shoes, which according to a recent episode of Globetrekkers, they still make and wear. No, not everyone, but some. The citrus adds a nice touch and you can tell in every sip that it's there. It's welcome, too.

One thing is that they have gone to the nines with greenness and organics and have used about as little plastic on the bottle as possible, leaving in your hand, a dangerous and almost inevitable spilling container if you're not careful. It really likes to give, like those new water bottles, which, in itself, even the best water bottle is terrible for the environment since you can get water everywhere. So, if you want a great, natural tasting cola that, for some reason, they call "sparkling cola" when it is just pop, and you enjoy change in your classics, and have great control of your hands, this is the drink for you.

Cintron Peach Mango Green Tea

Cintron Peach Mango Green Tea
Cintron's canned teas and juices are fairly average. They taste like most other tallboy drinks. Those are what I first came across in the stores and I had written them off as just another cheap tea company. Then their glass bottle teas and energy drinks came into my life, and I can tell you for certain that these categories are where the company really shines.

I appreciate an iced tea that you can tell from the first sip that it is made with real brewed tea. Especially green tea. Junk iced green tea has become too commonplace. I really have no need for it in my life. I don't care if it's cheaper. Give me a nice brewed green tea and I will be a happy camper. That is if you give it to me when we're out in the woods and I'm setting up a tent. Well as long as the tent is easy to set up. Then I may be an annoyed camper with happy taste buds. Cintron uses a good quality brewed green tea. In this flavor the peach and mango taste like you're eating the actual fruit. They blend well with the tea. The use of cane sugar is also noticeable in the taste. I only wish their tall boys tastes like this because sometimes I want to be a glutton, but a glutton for high quality tea.

Harney & Sons Organic Big Berry & Tea

Harney & Sons Organic Big Berry & Tea
This just may be the best berry tea I have ever had. It may have an unfair advantage as they call it a "juice drink" and not a tea. It tastes like they created an incredible mixture of blackberry, raspberry and hibiscus and then combined one part of that with one part of black tea. Most flavored teas are mostly tea with a little flavoring and a whole lot of sugar. In this drink the fruit juice seems more important than the tea. It works well.

The label says it's "light sweet," but truth be told it's pretty darn sweet. I have no problem with it, as I said it tastes incredible. If I was looking for a tea that wasn't very sweet and I got this I would be in for a surprise. Other than that this is a top notch drink that I hope catches on in a big way. Also between the company name and the stripes on the bottle I feel like it should be served at a circus. I'm not putting my head in a lion's mouth again though. I'll tell you that for free.

Cintron Pineapple Ginger Green Tea

Cintron Pineapple Ginger Green Tea
Lets see, what do I have left to drink in the fridge? Man all I have left is 1/4 of a bottle of pineapple ginger juice and 3/4 of a bottle of green tea. I think we're all good with math and know what needs to happen. Combine them in one bottle and shake vigorously. This tastes pretty good. It's definitely mostly green tea, but the pineapple shines through a bit. It makes it sweet, but not candy-like. There is also the faintest hint of ginger. This is really a drink that everyone can enjoy. A lot of drinks with ginger in them are strong with a burn. While I love that, and wish this drink had a bit of a burn, I also understand that it's a turn off for a lot of people. This would be really marketable. I need to call Cintron and pitch this idea to them. I bet they would love it.

Cintron Tamarind Iced Tea

Cintron Tamarind Iced Tea
Jerry, could you come over here? Jer? You're fired. I just heard from Sheila Larson that you messed up on our last batch of tamarind iced tea. Here at Cintron, we don't settle for second best and we certainly don't accept screw-ups a large as the one you performed today lightly. I know you feel bad for it, but I feel a little like Alec Baldwin in the beginning of Elizabethtown where he fires Orlando Bloom because he made that defective shoe that lost the company just shy of a billion dollars. Sure, we didn't lose but one batch of tamarind tea, but it's a loss nonetheless and any opportunity to feel like Alec Baldwin, I'll do it.

What did you do? Well Sheila told me that you forgot to put the tamarind in with the mixture so all we put out was black tea. Now I haven't had any but Sheila is on her way up with a bottle so that we can both taste what mistakes taste like. Here she comes now. Thank you Sheila, you hair looks big today.

Alright, Jer, come pull up a seat and let's crack this open and see what getting fired tastes like. I've always wondered. It seems that since I've been here at Cintron, I've done nothing but go upward on the ladder of success. Do you want ice in your glass? Alright, here goes. Same time, Jerry.

Jerry, I've got to tell you...I thought it would be worse. If you ordered Cherry Coke and just got regular Coke, you'd be upset. Personally, I never really liked the taste of Tamarind but the thought of putting out a product that claims to be tamarind and doesn't actually contain tamarind, well that's a lie and over at Cintron, we don't lie, ever, Jer. I may have been rash on firing you before I drank this. It's not bad. It just tastes like a sweetened black tea with a little citrus in it.

You know what? I have un-fired you. You can take a week off, unpaid of course, just to kind of rest up so you don't blem like this again, but I am just going to have the labeling guys re-label this as sweetened tea and re-sell it. Jer, you're a good guy. I like you. You've been here for ten years. Just don't mess up again. Have Sheila come back in here with more of that tea. It's a delicious mistake you made there, Jerry. Have a good week to think about what you've done.

Honest Tea Green Dragon Tea With Passion Fruit

Honest Tea Green Dragon Tea With Passion Fruit
The Honest company has a small team of knights that it keeps on it's payroll. There are really only three of them, but they are in the upper echelon of the payroll, even though they only have one job to perform. That job is to distract without killing the dragon that guards the green tea that lives on a certain mountain whose location I cannot reveal due to legal reasons.

Not only is this physically tolling and extremely dangerous to the knights, but the psychological damage is through the roof. You see knights are programmed from birth to kill dragons. It takes all of their will power and concentration to merely distract the beast and not kill it. That is the true reason for their astronomical salaries.

40 knights once agreed that it was well worth it to taste the tea that their efforts brought forth. It's just a shame that 37 of the 40 perished in the line of duty. The few that are left have discovered that if you mix in a little passion fruit with the tea the already wonderful taste is improved upon. It's still a bitter green tea taste, but the slight fruity hint gives the tea a new dimension. Here's to hoping that the final three knights live long and productive lives!

Harney & Sons Organic Black

Harney & Sons Organic Black
Jeeves, oh Jeeves, come here please. What is this? What, you say? Harney and Sons Organic Black tea? It's splendid. Where did you get this? In the cupboard? Really? Well, I clearly don't know what wifey brings in and out of this house. I really should pay more attention. I know that she's been spending a lot of time with the gardener and an equal amount of time with the new French tennis instructor.

What is in this? Basically just tea, sugar, and honey. It's so simple. Jeeves, get my people on the phone with this Mr. Harney and let's see if we can't come to some sort of agreement in terms of an acquisition, shall we? I can't let anything happen to this family and their wonderful tea. Why, I don't know what I would do if something happened to them and I wouldn't be able to get this delightful product. I say, it's probably in the phone book under "H". There are seventeen "Hanley's"? Well try them all. You are on the clock and this is important to me.

Jeeves, did I ever tell you of the time when mother used to make me tea when I was sick? When I was a boy, she used to make me tea and I thought it was simply dreadful so when mother wasn't looking, I would put sugar and honey in my tea. She was never the wiser. It cut out a lot of the bitterness and smoothed it out and it tastes exactly like this tea. This tea reminds me of mother and that's why it's so important that you get them on the phone and buy them out. While you're over there making phone calls for me, get my monocle cream. It's fogging up and I can't be bothered to do it myself.

Old Orchard Premium Red Tea with Current

Old Orchard Premium Red Tea with Current
When I saw this, I thought to myself, "This is going to suck." Why? It was dark and I thought it was a juice, regardless if it said "tea" or not. Anything in such a large container has to suck. Mass produced, so-called "premium" drinks are typically nothing but sugar water. Was I wrong? Yep-ahhh. I'm man enough to admit it, too. Ladies, did you hear that? A man, man enough to admit he was wrong? Trust me, ladies that are currently totally into me, Jay can attest to the fact that you want nothing to do with me.

This is good. Not too strong at all. A nice, well sweetened tea with the added, strange flavor of current. I don't know how I feel about current, yet. Jay tells me that it's huge in Europe, but here in The States, we're just getting into it. It has a berry taste, but a bitter berry taste. I purchased some current jam for PB&Js that's not too bad, so I'm getting used to the taste, and wanting to get used to the taste.

I don't know where my mom got this, but it's good and if you and like eight of your friends are ever together and want to try something new and you're all thirsty and this is there, get it. Most of you will like it. What a swimming endorsement. "Most out of eight like it!"

Rob's Really Good Cucumber

Rob's Really Good Cucumber
It tastes like cucumber and that's strange to you, huh? Never had a vegetable juice that is sweet, huh? Well guess what? It happens, brother or sister depending on what sex you are. It happens. Sometimes is happens well and sometimes it happens...not so well. This time, Rob's did a good job. It's not a juice, technically, but it's sweeter than you might expect.

I will say that the sweetness might "common folk" it up. You know, make it so Joe Everyman can come home from the ol' Packard Sawmill and drink something healthy, even though this isn't really healthy as much as it is just low in calories.

For me, I'm more of a man that is on the fringe, the bleeding edge. I am not scared of just something that tastes like liquid celery, because that's what I expected when I drank this, although I do congratulate Rob on making something that is still in the essence of cucumber and tastes so much like it but is still quenching.

Rob's Really Good Love Potion

Rob's Really Good Love Potion
Rob's has really stepped up their game with their newest line. They are all way more flavorful then their predecessors.

The Love Potion name of this drink is truly appropriate. After just one sip has "definitely cast a level 5 charm spell on me." At first I just thought it was a unique deliciousness. Then my ladyfriend said that it tastes like bubble gum. Instantly I realized the flavor and I narrowed it down to specifically strawberry Hubba Bubba gum. Somehow Rob's has melted a gum flavor from my youth down into a delicious 14fl oz bottle. Who knew that flavor was just composed of strawberries, roses and passionfruit. It makes sense that all of said things would be in a love potion, but who knew gum. I guess that makes all of my awkward unrequited preteen crushes make sense. Thanks a lot Hubba Bubba, you jerk

Honest Tea Assam Black Tea

Honest Tea Assam Black Tea
I like a lot of Honest Tea's tea. Is that redundant? I don't care. I like a lot of it, which is good because there is a lot of it to like. They definitely crank out flavor after flavor and never look back. I look at the shelves more than one should and I'm not even surprised when I can't keep up to what they come out with; this, CocoNova, Ade, and so on and so forth.

I think that this is a tricky one. If you make a cup of tea, and add one sugar packet, you're pretty set. It's a good ratio. This tastes like a gallon of black tea with one sugar packet. It's in there, but it's so lightly in there that you almost wish it was not there at all. It's not a bad tea, but for my money, this is too "Just a tad sweet" for me. I do, on the other hand, appreciate the maple syrup as an additional sweetener and flavoring. It's light in the mix, but it's there and you like it. It's bitter, almost like a green tea, but it's black tea.

I like this tea, but there are other teas out there that do what this tea does better. I am sure that this will sell like hotcakes, just not to me.

Rob's Really Good Watermelon

Rob's Really Good Watermelon
I was pretty skeptical at first when I saw this bottle. I don't think I've ever seen a watermelon drink, let alone any juice that is completely clear. Then I took a look at the ingredients, the first two are purified water and organic cane sugar. When the first sign of juice is #3 on the ingredients list, I am weary, and rightfully so. This tastes like sugar water with a hint of watermelon flavor. I suppose this is good for people who want a light watermelon juice, but I'm not one of them. When I think juice, I want tons of flavor. This is like watermelon sugar water. No thank you.

Rob's Really Good Peachy Keen

Rob's Really Good Peachy Keen
Up until this point nearly all of the Rob's Really Good Flavors have been discontinued. It's funny because I had stated before that I always expected more from this company with the exception of the blueberry tea, which is the only flavor that made the cut in the switch to their new line. I'm glad that the company held the same opinion as us.

This is my first go with the new line, and I have to say after my first sip I already knew it was far superior to their old flavors. If a sweetened tea company wants to win me over with their products the best course of action is to use a decent sweetener and actual fruit juice for flavors. Rob's Really Good has done both of those things. I also want to applaud them for their use of oolong tea instead of the classic black variety. It adds just a little bit of kick that makes it stand out. In essence this is a southern sweet tea made with oolong with some real peach juice mixed in. I can't wait to try the other new flavors.

Calypso Organics Limeade

Calypso Organics Limeade
Listen Cindy, I know you really wanted to have a lemonade stand today, but the truth of the matter is you plumb used up all of the lemons in the house yesterday. All we have left is a handful of limes that your stuck up older sister uses in her Mojitos. I don't think those would be what you want. I've been meaning to ask you, what did you do with eight dozens lemons? I'm catering a party for the Shemkovitz's this weekend and you know how they love lemons in their water. Yes I know you made lemonade to sell, but what did you do with the rest of them? You sold it all and you now have $137? Wow! People said they would be back today for more? Well I guess we better give these limes a go then! Hmmm. This actually isn't bad. It's really tart, but it tastes exactly like it should; lemonade with limes instead of lemons. No I don't think we should add more sugar. The tartness has a charm to it. You're sister is going to be so mad at us for using her limes. Hopefully your customers will love it. Oh honey your father wanted me to ask you if you knew where his records went. You what!?!?! You gave them away with the lemonade?!?!? Do you know how much some of those early 45's were worth? Looks like someone isn't going to college anymore.
