Metromint Orange Mint
You know what's strange? I gave this to everyone in my office. Everyone. Men, women, diet, non-diet and no one liked it. I got a lot of, "Oh, that's not what I expected." and "That's the worst thing I've ever drank." and it made me think, "Why?" It's nothing but orange, mint, and water. It tastes only like that and nothing else. No aftertaste, no overpowering flavors, no funny or risky business. I liked it. Do I like everything? Nope. Do I hate everything? That is closer to the truth, but still a fallacy.
I like taking a big swig and seeing what it tastes like and then I like letting it wallow in my mouth so I get a rush of orange and then a rush of cool mint when I swallow. It's good. It's good for you. It's a fantastic alternative to water. What's to hate? I don't know. I like it. I've got a lemon mint in the fridge to try and still, somewhere on deck, is that cherry mint that I can't find but really want to try. More Metromint reviews to come soon, friends!

Stamina Rx Sex On The Beach
While visiting Richmond recently I wandered into a bodega across the street from a friends house. Their beverage selection was poor at best. Oh but what's this. You've got to be kidding me. Stamina Rx? I laughed for quite awhile. I was about to leave the store when my band mate expressed his disbelief that I wasn't going to pick it up for Thirsty Dudes. I gave in, turned around and purchased this can of "Extreme Sexual Experience."
This has since been sitting in my fridge for weeks. Last night I decided it was time. Cracked this baby open and took a big swig. What hit my lips was the cheapest tasting strawberry/fruit punch flavored pop that has ever visited my taste buds. Even though it says it's sugar free and naturally sweet, it still tastes like aspartame or some other artificial sweetener. Not good at all.
Oh, and for the record (and all you perverts out there) the only physical reaction I got from this drink was a pretty terrible headache. Old men everywhere will be disappointed when they run out of little blue pills and they run to their local corner stores for a quick fix.

Vignette Wine Country Soda Rosè
Before we even took a sip my girlfriend proclaimed RosΓΖΓβΓβΓΒ© to be the grossest of all wines. She also added that it was wine for old ladies. It's apparently a mix of red and white wine for the geriatric woman.
This is my least favorite of the Vignette sodas. It's very dry, and not very flavorful. It really doesn't taste much like anything at first. Then it has a slightly grapey aftertaste.
If you see Vignette anywhere go with one of the other flavors.

Maine Root Blueberry Soda
I thought that it was going to be good but I didn't think that it was going to be this good. When you think of a fruit pop you think of grape or strawberry which is wildly sweet and often a little too much. This is a nice blueberry flavor that tastes like real fruit and not like some artificial scientific fruit. There isn't any cola taste and it's all fruit so there isn't anything covering anything else up.
Main Root has a lot of different flavors and I'm excited to try the rest.

Pannela Peach Smile
I really need to get myself some cane sugar stalks. I think it would be an interesting experience. Pannela is raw unrefined cane juice. It's a pretty great sweetener. I like this way more than the sugar cane juice I had last week.
This looks like it should be a tea, but it's just pannela and some natural peach flavoring. There are two ways peaches flavor drinks. This unfortunately did not fall under the category that I love. It's still better than artificial flavoring, but it does leave me wishing it were a little bit better.

Aloevine Strawberry
Upon first sip I thought "Wow this actually tastes like strawberries." The more I drank the less it tasted like fruit, and the more it just tasted like sweet liquid. It's not my favorite Aloevine flavor, but it's not bad. I would just recommend the other flavors first.

Nehi Grape
You know what's awesome? A decent grape pop. Grape pop has the potential to be so bad, so when a company gets it right it's cause for celebration. A celebration such as a work picnic perhaps? All the adults are playing softball downing some brews while the kids are running around getting in trouble with grape pop dribbling down their chins.
Nehi is a picnic pop. It doesn't actually contain grapes, but the flavor they have created does taste more like a purple grape than it does chemical.

Rice Dream Rice Nog
One of the things I miss most about being vegan is eggnog. I used to drink it straight from the carton. I loved how thick and delicious it was. I'm glad every year there seems to be more non-dairy eggnogs available. This one, made with rice milk, isn't my favorite. It has a decent "nog" taste. It's not overloaded with nutmeg, which is good. But rice milk isn't my favorite alt-milk, so it's a little to thin for my taste. But if you prefer a light eggnog, this is the drink for you.

Cawy Diet Pineapple
I hate to say it, but it's better than the non-diet version. It's less candy and a titch more diet at the very end, like one minute after you drink it. The "problem" with the first one was that it was so sweet that it was hard to drink. Kevin [featured], my boss, friend, and drinker of many of my diet drinks has the following to say:
Thank you Kevin and now you, the general public, have another diet drink to enjoy.
It reminded me of eating a pineapple Jolly Rancher with a little less sweetness. It didn't give me that "phlegmy" throat you usually get with fruity drinks. The fact that I'm still drinking it 10 minutes later means that I'm not overwhelmed by too much fruit.
Thank you Kevin and now you, the general public, have another diet drink to enjoy.

Made Blackberry Peach
After Mike's review of the Made Blueberry Lemonade, I couldn't wait to try this. Do I like it as much as he liked his? No. Do I still think it's very good? Yes. My only real complaint is that the tea flavor gets lost in all of the fruit juice. It has a very strong fruit flavor, with a slight tea aftertaste. It's pretty sweet, but not to an overbearing extent. If I were in the mood for an iced tea, this would not be my first choice. It is something that I will definitely be enjoying again when I just want a nice fruity drink.

Abita Root Beer
I just recently found out that a bunch of beer breweries also have their own line of root beer. I for one think that's pretty rad. A friend recommended this, and said that Abita also made really good beer. I will just have to take her word on that.
I really like the bottles that these come in. They are shorter and fatter than your typical bottles. Something about them just screams "Hey these are the kind of bottles cowboys would drink out of!"
I was a bit skeptical when I read the ingredients and it says "root beer flavor." I was expecting it to taste like those little root beer candies. Luckily I was wrong and it has a fairly good taste to it. This is a great root beer for someone who wants something more than an A&W or Dads, but doesn't like the complex flavors in a root beer like Virgils.

12 Noon To Midnight Rouge
After I wrote my review of the Original Noon to Midnight, I had an email chat with Steve from 12. He let me know that they would be releasing the Rouge version of it, and asked me to give it a try. I told him I would because anytime a company takes the time to write us a nice thought out email, I will always give their product another try.
My girlfriend found it at our local grocery store, and we decided to drink it tonight with our gourmet meal of pierogis and stuffing (We made it once when those were the only two foodstuffs left in the house. It ended up being surprisingly good). I definitely enjoyed the Rouge way more than the Original 12, mainly because it lacked in fennel. I just couldn't get over the taste of it in the Original.
It is a very light, dry drink. It's a mixture of a bunch of different teas, fruit juices, spices and carbonated water. If this had sugar added to it, I bet it wouldn't taste too different from a mid level soda pop. I'm glad there's not though. It makes 12 stand out, and it's not terrible for you. It isn't very refreshing, but it's not supposed to be. It's the kind of drink that you sip with a meal, not something you would gulp down while watching a sporting event.
I was going to give this a rating of 3, but after some thought, it's getting a 4. It may not be something that I would normally grab, but for what it is, it's very good.

Made Blueberry Lemonade
Good, very good. I will say exceptional. It's so sincere and without covers. Naked, if you will. You can taste everything just the way that it was intended. The blueberries are bitter but sweet. The lemonade is bitter but sweet. All together, you want to guess how it tastes? Answer? Fantastic.
This, I will append, is an adult drink. I feel that it's bitter in the beginning so much that kids might not like it because they love sweet all the way through. It's 50% bitter in the beginning and smoothes out at the end and leaves you with the memory of a good drink. No bad aftertaste and no strange flavors.
Made, thank you for making this and making it available at a reasonable price (Big Lots for less than $1 USD) and making pomegranate lemonade, which I will review next week. If you can get your hands on this, do it and thank me in the comment section. If you don't like it, curse me in the comment section.

Peace Tea Imported Ceylon Tea
Nope. I don't know why you would put sugar in a drink, pride yourselves on adding all natural ingredients and then screw it up by adding sucralose. This tea doesn't really have a taste. Alright, alright, in the beginning, it might have been alright. After about two or three sips, all I got was artificial flavor. All natural flavors, freshly brewed tea, filtered water...awesome, great. I don't know what happened but I couldn't drink this in its entirety, as it tasted fake. Jay loves the stuff, and more power to him, but this was not fantastic. I would easily take a HFCS Arizona over this, and no, it's not a matter of me having unrefined tastes, it's just that this didn't have a taste other than average tea and craploads of sugar, whether it is real or fake.

Lane Southern Orchard Peach Cider
Another cider I got on my trip down south. When you're at a peach farm in Georgia, and they have peach cider, you buy a bottle. I think that might actually be a law.
I don't really know what I expected this to taste like. Actually I do. I expected a little bit of a fall flavor, but you know what? They don't really have the fall where peaches grow. This is very good nonetheless. It's slightly different than a peach juice, but it's not as far off as apple cider is from apple juice. One of my friends said that it tasted like the juice in the bottom of a can of peaches. I can see that, but it's better.

Made Pomegranate Mojito
This was a very strange drink. The aftertaste was better than when you were drinking it. You would drink more just to get to the aftertaste. The mint was very strong and I would say that it made up 75% of the flavor. That's not to say that you couldn't taste the pomegranate. After a while you would get use to it and it wasn't that bad but that initial sip was a strange sensation. Think of it like a very bittersweet pomegranate lemonade aftertaste.
I know that Made has other drinks and we will get them soon because Jay told me that he bought more when he went to the store.

Cool Mountain Fountain Classics Razzberry
This is a bright blue soda that looks eerily like the poison that Christian Slater mixes up to feed to the girl in Heathers. You know the one that makes her fall right over into the glass table.
It tastes like you might expect, like a melted freezie pop. Unfortunately it has a pretty bad aftertaste. It tastes almost diet. How does something with cane sugar have a diet aftertaste?
The cap asks the question "Are you thirsty?" I have to answer "Yes, yes I am because your beverage wasn't very good and I didn't finish the whole thing and pawned it off on my friends."

Mountain Dew White Out
I love video games. I really do. Do I wish that I could do all night LAN parties and Xbox Live until the break of dawn? You betcha. Do I make a big deal and schedule events when new games come out so that my dude friends can rage in my living room? Ab-so-lutely. Let me also say that I am a web developer. Have you ever gone into a web developer's office/basement "office"/bedroom? There are typically mountains, walls, and barriers made of Mountain Dew cans and bottles. I've seen it with my own eyes.
I don't really like it. It's just got a bit of a toxic taste to it that I can't place. It just tastes artificial. There is no distinguishable flavor. It's just whatever Mountain Dew tastes like. I recently bought a sub/hoagie/grinder from across the street and when you do that, you can get a free can of pop. I saw it there and decided what better time than now? So here I am, in my office, doing "The Dew" and I have to tell you, it's not bad. You still get traditional Mountain Dew flavor as an aftertaste but there is a definite "citrus" flavor on top and it's not bad. Sure it's mega sweet but it's to be expected.
If you want to try it, try it. You can get it by the can or bottle so you don't have to commit to a case or 2 liter bottle, which might be dental suicide. You might be surprised and like it.

Wegmans Just Tea Oolong
As you can probably guess, drinking all these drinks high in sugar is exhausting. We don't finish a lot of them because if we did, we would all be 500 pounds with teeth as black as night. Hence, this is why once in a while it's nice to drink a nice, calm, unsweetened tea.
Wegmans is our (Buffalo, Rochester, some parts of Pennsylvania) grocery store. Their products are usually pretty spot-on. This is no different. This tea is deep, bold, powerful, and full of flavor. I feel like this tea is the tea equivalent of a black cup of coffee. It is good, too. I'm not too familiar with oolong, but I am no stranger to tea and this is good. It's got no sugar and is just tea. You can taste it in the mix. No messing around and all serious business.
This tea is perfect for those in my situation where you just need a break from sugar for approximately 16.9oz at a time. Oh, and don't worry because they make larger ones, too. They have many "Just Tea" flavors to pick from and so far, they have all been winners.
