Purity Organic Fresh Pressed Apple Juice
There is one ingredient in this bottle: organic apple juice. Everyone else who tried it thought that is was a really good apple juice. The problem I have with it is totally me and not the actual product. I'm from Western New York where apple orchards run rampant. I drink a lot of apple juice and cider. This is definitely made from a different type of apple than I am used to. It has a different aftertaste than what I'm used to. I understand why other people would like it. I know it's made from quality apples. I mean everyone else really liked it. I'm just a picky fool who doesn't like change.

Flying Bison Candy Cane
I got a text message from a friend late the other night telling me to go out to my front yard because she had thrown a growler onto my snow covered front lawn of this delicious soda for me. I quickly ran out in my pjs and grabbed it up from its snowy tomb.
Flying Bison is a local brewery that will occasionally make some soda. I had heard they were making this, but when I went to get some, it wasn't ready yet. I was definitely pumped to be able to try it. It wasn't as strong as I was expecting it to be. That is definitely a good thing. Anything that is too strongly mint flavored is generally terrible. This tastes like they got a decent nondescript flavored soda going on in a large vat and then dissolved a couple of hundred candy canes on it. While it's in your mouth there is only a slight mint flavor to it. It's when you swallow and breath in that the mintiness really hits you. You also get a nice minty taste when you lick your lips afterward.
I couldn't drink a huge glass of this, but a nice small glass of it is a really nice accent to the season.

New Leaf Strawberry White Tea
New Leaf. Seriously, can you do wrong? The tea is amazing. It's and even 50/50 strawberry tea mix and you can taste it all. You get a nice, natural strawberry flavor with a light, white tea bitterness like it should be.
Thanks again New Leaf for doing things right.

Kutztown Orange Cream
Much like Jay's fears over the red cream, the large plastic bottle this came in also turned me off. It screams "cheap soda for under a dollar". Sadly, my instincts were right. There is barely any cream flavor so I would hardly call this an orange cream. As far as orange soda goes, it has a good smell and tastes better than big name orange sodas like Sunkist. But that's as far as it goes. There's nothing special about this pop.

Skeleteens Love Potion No. 69 Purple
Back in the mid 90's when I was in high school, New Age Creations and Showplace Theatre (a local music venue) used to sell the Skeleteens line of soda. I was obsessed with it. It was overly caffeinated, and I remember some of them felt like you were drinking liquid smoke. After a few months they disappeared from the shelves. There were a bunch of rumors floating around as to why, most of them being about how there was actually some sort of illegal drug in the ingredients, or that one of the ingredients had been banned. This was about a decade before energy drinks really hit the market hard, so things heavily caffeinated seemed insane. Remember how people went nuts about Jolt back in the day?
I quickly forgot the company even existed. About two years ago I started searching for info, but no one knew what I was talking about. Even my friends who used to get them with me, barely remembered them existing. It didn't help that I couldn't remember the name of the company. Finally someone remembered they were called Skeleteens, and I scoured the internet. I found out that although the Skeleteens company is no more, Real Soda has taken over and on occasions small runs of the drinks were made, unfortunately I could only find them at distributors in California, and shipping was astronomical. I searched for them everywhere I went, with no luck. Then for Xmas this year, my girlfriend's parents ordered me a bunch of sodas from Galcos. I got one of each Skeleteens flavor, and boy am I ever stoked.
Okay forget the back-story, on to the review. As soon as I popped this open the smell hit me, and I totally felt like I was 15 again. It's crazily carbonated, but this one unfortunately didn't have as strong of a liquid smoke feeling as I remember (I now liken that feeling to crazy strong ginger beer). It starts off as a grape flavor, but then it switches directions and heads somewhere out west. I have no idea what to compare the flavor to, but I really love it. Maybe it's all the crazy herbs that are in the drink. Here is a list: Siberian Ginseng, Jasmine, Buchu, Dillweed, Ginko Biloba, Clove, Echinacea, Damiana, Kola Nut, Dong Quai, Brazilian Guarna, Gotu Kola, African Capsicum and Chamomile (I don't get why this one was in here). It's a weird mix of energy releasing and sexual stimulation herbs and those to promote a healthy immune system. Shear insanity. I've only gotten halfway through the bottle, and I already real insanely caffeinated. I have yet to have any sexual stimulation, so I'm calling their bluff.
Oh, and the label does nothing but scream 90's counter-culture. It's such an "alternative" company. Here are some of the things printed on the label: "arousing carbonated drink", "True love ain't cheap", "It's a turn on", "Helps to keep your heart on", "Nine inches full of wetness", "Not to be used alone unless you're into self-satisfaction" and my personal favorite (right above the ingredients) "What you'll be swallowing is these."
I don't know if it's just nostalgia or what, but I'm giving this a five-bottle review. I really love the way it tastes. I was hoping that I would think it was disgusting now that I'm older, so that I wouldn't have to worry about finding it again. Oh well. Now I'm going to have to find the pink variety of this. If anyone has any hook ups of how I can get this without it costing me a million dollars in shipping, please, please, please let me know.

The Relaxing Company Mary Jane's Relaxing Soda
Well my mom took one sip of this and said "Well that's gross." She also lives on water and diet store brand pop, so she's not much of an authority.
My review is that it tastes like a fairly decent cola. I think it's way better than a Pepsi or Coke, but not as tasty as some gourmet colas I've had.
The name may make you think that there is weed in this, since it's also a relaxing soda. Fear not, no illegal drugs are used in the making of this soda. I guess I can't vouch for the sobriety of the workers who make it. It does have passionflower and kava in it, which can help one to relax. It won't knock you out like other relaxations do.

New Leaf Lemon Blue Tea
I started drinking this on Tuesday. I was more than I wanted to drink in that sitting, so I put it in the fridge for later. I actually forgot about it until now. I'm glad I did, because I'm enjoying it ice cold way more.
When I picked it up I thought, "Blue tea, never heard of it!" After two seconds of research I discovered that oolong tea is also known as blue tea. So it's really nothing that crazy. That is how this tastes, not that crazy. It's a pretty straightforward lemon iced tea. The oolong gives it a slightly different taste, but it's nothing terribly out of the ordinary. I will tell you this though, it may be a pretty standard lemon tea, but it's also one of the best I've had. The lemon is present, without distracting you from the taste of the oolong.
This is our 8th review of New Leaf flavors, and none of them got less than four bottles. On a website, where we like to criticize things a whole bunch, that really means a lot.

Sioux City Orange Cream
Whenever I see the word "cream" in a soda, the vegan instincts in me kick in and I have to check to make sure it's safe to drink. The fine folks at Sioux City decided to add "non-dairy" to the label, which is much appreciated.
This is a damn good bottle of orange cream soda. As I proclaimed this, my friends Adam and Cory were intrigued so i passed the bottle around. They agreed with my sentiment. It's not as creamy as other orange cream soda's I've had. It has a mild cream after taste. The cane sugar lets the orange flavor flourish without the sharp after taste HFCS gives you.

Fizzy Lizzy Cranberry
I've had good luck with Fizzy Lizzy and bad luck with Fizzy Lizzy. This one, lucky for me, was good luck. I like the concept of Fizzy Lizzy drinks because they are all naturally sweetened, usually with apple juice, and it's just fruit and carbonated, filtered waters. For that reason, you get a very true taste to all drinks. I am not a huge fan of grapefruit, and that's why I didn't like the grapefruit drink they did. This cranberry drink, though, was pretty spot-on to a real cranberry. Cranberries, naturally bitter, are typically drenched in so much sugar that you can't taste the natural tinge of the fruit itself. Fizzy Lizzy wanted you to remember what a real cranberry tastes like and that's what they give you. This drink is bitter. Bittersweet? I never understood that taste. I guess it's just a concatenated way of saying "Oh, it's bitter and sweet."
I liked it and would get another one. I didn't feel like my teeth were rotting out and everyone at the table I shared it with liked it. It starts off bitter but leaves a nice sweet, fruit aftertaste.

Olde Brooklyn Coney Island Cream Soda
I had high expectations for this cream soda. I'd be lying if I said this didn't have to do with the drawing of a bridge on the bottle. Why do I think good packaging equals a tasty beverage? I have no clue.
Sadly, this isn't as good as I thought it would be. It has a nice vanilla flavor, but the after taste is pretty bland. While not the worst cream soda, definitely not something I'd go out of my way to buy again.

Herbal Mist Tea made with Yerba Mate Peach
The peach flavor in this is overpoweringly strong. It's so strong that you can't taste the yerba mate at all. It barely tastes like tea at all. It's just a sugary peach drink. I really want more tea flavor out of this, and I would really enjoy it. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't have expected much from a product whose label looks like part of the Ed Hardy line.

Kedem Grape Juice Blush
This is a real nice grape juice. I'm used to normal and white grape juice. I don't know if I've ever had blush grape juice that wasn't carbonated before. This definitely tastes like it should be a sparkling grape juice. The glass bottle just makes me think that more.
It's naturally sweet, really sweet, without any harshness. I really like grape juice, but sometimes the harshness can be a little much to drink a large quantity. This looks like it's the answer to my weak stomach's prayers.

PRE Powder Sybiotic Drink Mix Pomegranate Yumberry
We don't do a lot of powdered drinks. It's hard to keep a consistent flavor between batches or mixes. We have a few teas that we just haven't done because it's near impossible to get similar mixes. With this, though, it's pretty easy. First, I will say that I have one 16-ounce container and one packet of this mix. I shook it up and called it a day. Hopefully we can all meet on the same page with that.
So on to the review. I read the instructions and was psyched to see that the number one ingredient was cane sugar but then further down the list was Stevia. It is called a "synbiotic drink" and has prebiotics in it that are cultures of bacteria that clean you up from the inside out. In addition, it has probiotics and synbiotics, which are all used to build up immunity. All of Pre's drinks are like this. Thanks for thinking of my health, guys. They've got a bunch of different flavors, too. This was my first flavor and I thought it a safe place to start.
The pomegranate and yumberry is a common mix and we have some on the site, but the cane sugar couldn't beat the uber-sweet Stevia mix. It's not undrinkable, but it is not without the cold and sweet artificial sweetener taste. It's got a pretty good fruity flavor, though. It's a good change from those other powdered drink mixed.
I think that Pre is a new company so show them some love and pick some of this up.

Purity Organic Mango Wonder
Lemon and lime, lemon and ginger, iced tea and lemon, lemon water...these are all flavors I am familiar with. Something I've never had before is a mango and lemon mix. Where have you been all my life? Okay, scratch that, I did have mango lemonade, but that was so tart that I almost forgot about the mango aspect. In this bottle is the perfect blend of the two fruits. Both flavors are very distinct without being overpowering. I think that it helps that the base of this drink is a lemon-mango puree. No artificial garbage in this baby, just pure organic greatness.
The bottle says that Purity Organic is the largest US supplier of fresh organic mangoes. For that I salute them. It is a wonderful fruit that I need more of in my life, my mouth, and my stomach.

Pacific Simply Tea Tangerine
Hmm. Sometimes you drink something and it makes you think. I feel that Pacific has one vat of tea that they make and mix in with all of their drinks, and why shouldn't they? Why would they make multiple vats of the same drink to use in different drinks? Part of going back to the same company is that you like something that they do. The green tea used for Pacific drinks is very bitter and very long lasting. If you like that, hey, you're welcome I found them for you. If you like a quick bite and then a prompt release, you probably won't be crazy. Look, these drinks are good and they don't mess around with flavors and additives and stuff. Little bit of sugar, lotta bit of green tea, moderate bit of flavor. It's tea first, after all. Why should they add something to it? Oh, so that they can sell more product? Good idea and smart thinking, marketing department.
This tea tastes like a bitter tea with the rind/zest of a tangerine. It's made from real orange juice concentrate and natural tangerine flavor, but they use it in a "gourmet" sense and not a "BAM with flavor" sense. Do I punish them for it? No. They are clearly trying to target people with more sophisticated taste buds. I do have this, but maybe I've drunk too many Pacific drinks this week and my palate has become bored.
I'll give it some time and come back for more later.

The Relaxing Company Relaxing Tea
This is nice. It just tastes like a decent quality iced tea sweetened with agave. If someone poured me a glass, I would have no idea, based on taste, that it was anything other than a normal iced tea.
This doesn't have all of the crazy stuff that the other relaxation drinks I've had in the past have. It's just tea, sweetener and kava root. It doesn't make you pass out like the other varieties do, but it does relax you and just calms you out. I'm pretty sure you could down one of these in the middle of a stressful day, and you wouldn't want to take a nap, but you would probably feel better.
I don't know if it's really related or not, but I did have a bunch of weird dreams last night after I drank it. I was the only real member of my band on a tour (our friends Bedford Falls from Wales were filling in for every other instrument), we played to a crowd of zombies, and I had to bash them with my bass, then we went and looted my absentee landlord's other property. You know, just like real life. All of it.

Silk Nog
Eggnog is one of the foulest beverages in the history of the world. Eggs and milk mixed? No thanks! Ever since I was a kid I loathed the stuff. I don't give a rip if Santa loves the stuff. You know what I do care if he likes it. He can have my share.
A couple of years back a friend got a carton of Silk Nog and I went off about how gross the stuff was. I was then basically forced to try it. I was shocked that I actually enjoyed the stuff. I don't know if it was just that I knew it wasn't made out of disgusting ingredients or if it's just better than eggnog. I will tell you this, it's not as thick as eggnog, but it's by no means watery. When you go to take a sip and breath in through your mouth, a strong taste hits you before the liquid. It's like an aftertaste in reverse. I think Silk has mastered quantum physics with this beverage. I've never had that happen before with a drink. When it finally hits your tongue it's very creamy, and tastes like light holiday spices.
Every since that day I've gotten a handful of cartons of this a year. It's not an all the time drink, but a nice glass of it every once and a while is really nice. I guess I have to get in the holiday mood in some way, and I choose to do so eating cookies and drinking Silk Nog.

Pacific Simply Tea Wild Berry
Not too shabby. It's pretty close to if you were to make iced green tea and then (somehow) flavor it with natural flavors. Maybe juice wild berries and pour the juice in your tea. Sweeten it a little bit and you are done. Enjoy your wild fruits.
It was pretty bitter and left a bit of it behind which was fine with me since I wanted to go back anyhow.

I sent a question in to the Root Jack website and they answered it in a video on their site and sent me two bottles to sample. Pirate root beer is an idea I can get behind. To make things better it is orange flavored and has vitamin c in it to fight scurvy.
It has an initial root beer flavor, but where the bite would be an orange flavor smoothes it out. I hope people don't take this the wrong way but it kind of reminds me of the "Burger King/Laser Tron Special". You know where you mix everything in the fountain machine together.
To put the top on it, it's jam packed with guarana to give you an extra kick of energy. This is definitely a unique root beer.

Abbott Farms Strawberry Cider
Abbott Farms did not do to well in the world of sodas, but they do know how to make a cider. Fill up a blender with strawberries and sugar and puree that little guy. Then do whatever it is that you do to apples to make cider. It really seems like you can taste the strawberries, seeds and all. No there aren't really any seeds in this, so you don't have to worry about them annoyingly getting stuck in your teeth. If you have any interest in strawberries, this is a must have.
