Teas' Tea Half & Half Green Tea With Peach
Well this isn't what I thought it was going to be at all. I'm guessing that I'm not the only one out there that thinks of a combination of iced tea and lemonade when they hear “half & half.” There wasn't an ounce of my being that didn't think this was going to be peach flavored green tea and lemonade in equal increments. Looks like every ounce of my being was wrong. How does it feel to be wrong, self? Oh nevermind, you're used to the feeling.
The truth is there is no lemonade in this drink at all. When Teas' Tea says that it is a half & half, what they mean is that the beverage is half green tea and half peach juice. To be honest I'm glad that I was wrong. This year everyone is going crazy with the lemonade tea combos and I'm getting a bit tired of it. One thing that I will never get tired of is lightly sweetened quality tea, and that is what we have right here. It has the classic Teas' Tea green tea taste juiced up with a heaving amount of peach. They could have just called this peach green tea, because it doesn't taste crazy different than their normal teas. Okay, it is a tad sweeter than their other flavors, but not by much. I guess marketing had to get their grubby hands in there, and they figured calling it something new might catch people's eyes.
Oh, and this trend of companies using cane sugar and stevia because they say it helps bring out the flavor? Cut it out. Luckily with this drink you cant' taste the stevia, but in most of the other ones I've tried the stevia is distracting and takes away from a great beverage.

Reed's Flying Cauldron Butterscotch Beer
A trip to Hogsmeade isn't something I'm able to do on a regular basis. I wish I did have the time, but my life is so busy. You see I opened a wand shop in Diagon Alley after Ollivander's closed down. Okay, yes I know he didn't just decide to close down the shop. If I were kidnapped like he was I would have probably closed too. Anyways, so I own a wand shop and that takes up most of my time.
Yesterday I was lamenting to a customer about how I hadn't been able to get a butter beer in a long time due to my long hours of work. They told me to wait a minute and came back with this wonderful looking bottle. I didn't know they started bottling butter beer, which goes to show you how much I get out. I wasted no time in opening the bottle and the delicious butter beer smell wafted into the air.
And the taste you ask? Oh man, the taste is perfect! If you've never had butter beer before it tastes like a butterscotch candy (Werther's Original to be exact) in liquid form. So delicious and so sweet. I can already feel my teeth forming cavities. I loved the bottle so much I asked my new friend to buy me four more. I gave them a free wand in exchange. Maybe I shouldn't have done that since a wand costs around 5 Galleons and five bottles of butter beer is only a couple of Sickles. Oh well, it was worth it.

Nawgan Alertness Beverage Orange
Oh I get it. Nawgan, it's like noggin. You know, your head. I'll give them points for being cheesily clever, seeing as this beverage is supposed to boost brainpower and help you concentrate. I picture young nerdy kids in grade school saving up to buy can after can of this so that they can become smart enough to be an astronaut or a nuclear physicist. That's a cool job, right?
The “secret” ingredient in here is citicoline, which according to the never wrong Wikipedia, increases dopamine receptor densities. It also helps to improve focus and mental energy. It also says that it may be useful in the treatment of ADD. Does that mean that this is basically Ritalin in beverage form? From what I gather, they do the same thing.
I like the ideas that are behind this drink. I would much rather have kids drinking something like this than normal energy drinks. It's just too bad that the flavor is fairly mediocre. It tastes just like any other orange drink. You know the kind that doesn't taste like orange juice, but it doesn't taste like orange pop either. I don't know who decided to call the flavor orange, but it has been around for a long time and it's not going anywhere. Also, the skinny can fooled me again. I expected this to be carbonated, but it was just an orange drink with quasi Ritalin in it.

Real Beanz Resist Mocha
Warren Phillips was a busy man. His business was his priority, and it was all consuming. When he wasn't in the office he was running around the city to meet up with some client or another or to gather information for his business. You see Warren Phillips was a businessman on the run, and when you're a businessman on the run you need to take your meals and snacks on the go as well. Warren had everything set out around town. Each day of the week he had a separate deli/food cart where he could grab a bite in less than two minutes. He knew where every bodega was in the city, and at what times they got their rush. It seemed that Warren had everything figured out, well except one thing; he had a deep-set love affair with iced cafè mochas. The problem was the time it took for the baristas to concoct this beverage was time that was not being put to use for his business, and Warren certainly couldn't have that. He had tried some canned versions in the past, but they were always vaguely chalky and never really satisfied him.
One day Warren saw a display of Real Beanz drinks under a comically large sign that read “New Product.” Never one to pass up a chance to make his day run smoother, he picked up a bottle of his beloved mocha. In the 12 seconds he was in line to pay for it, he read the label (Did you really think Warren Phillips wouldn't be a speed reader?) and discovered that it was a mocha mixed with green tea extract for added antioxidants. “Well isn't that just wonderful,” thought Warren. If this drink was delicious he could stop his craving and help fight off sickness by helping his immune system out. This really all happened in 12 seconds. It was crazy. By the time he was out the door, he had already downed half the bottle. His dreams had come true. The coffee drink was completely delicious and not chalky at all. It was heavier on the chocolate taste than the coffee, but you could still taste the coffee in the aftertaste. It was just the way he liked it. Also the quality of the chocolate was way better than any other prepackaged mocha drink he had ever tried. He thought it might even taste better than the stuff his favorite coffee shop used. For a second he thought he could taste a little green tea in there, but then he realized he was being crazy.
Warren was in love, and the whole experience took 7 minutes less than he would have spent with the baristas. That was more time for Warren to spend on his business, and off he went to sell, sell, sell.

Agua Enerviva Lo Cal Natural Energy Mate Lemonade + Guarana
Sadly this is a pretty big bottle of mediocrity. I thought that mate lemonade would be pretty interesting but instead, I was served some sort of light juice that doesn't really taste much like lemonade or mate. Odd how that happened. It actually tastes a bit diet, but not too much. I'm just kind of milling over the taste but from what was advertised to what was delivered, they are worlds apart. This drink was fruity but light almost like if you had some guarana Vitamin Water.
I didn't know what it would taste like as mate is inherently pretty bitter and lemonade is sour or tart. Together I thought that it would have given my tongue a run for it's money, a phrase that my tongue doesn't understand because it doesn't work and as many times as I've tried to become a famed voice-over actor, it decided to work by spouting off negativity, sarcasm, and unfortunately misdirected wit.
I might have the energy to complete my day due to the caffeine in both mate and guarana, but I didn't particularly enjoy the path to get there.

My Body Shots Electro Fruit Punch
I'll tell you what blows and that's waking up sick as a dog. I'm floating through the day and it's a feeling that I absolutely hate. Plus, I've got a dry cough that I can't shake no matter how much liquid I drink and cough drops I have. I've got to put it in the hands of the drink gods to provide me with something that will battle the vermin inside of me. I had this little guy lying around, read the nutritional facts and knew that this is what I needed.
I slightly knew what I was getting into with this drink. The others have been little powerhouses and I was lucky to discover that this one was a whole lot less powerful. I was grateful for that. This one still had a little "functional" taste to it but it did taste a bit like fruit punch. That "functional" taste I speak of is that thing where you know that a drink is up to something like when you taste it, it tastes funny and you read the ingredients and discover that it's a whole serving of vegetables in it. That type of feeling except this one is just chocked full of vitamin and minerals so that small fries can play baseball. I hope that my son is a better baseball player than I was. I don't think my dad could take another lame outfielder in the family.

MacFuddy Pepper Elixir
This is the second time I have bought a bottle of this, but only the first time I was able to drink it. You see, the first time I had this the bitter cold of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan decided to freeze and shatter the bottle as I slept. Lesson learned, don't leave your soda in the van overnight when the temperature it below zero (that's -17 in Celsius).
Not this time! I was finally able to taste this elixir (I love that it's called an elixir). I thought it was going to be a spicy pepper infused cola. To my surprise, it tastes a lot like Dr. Pepper. But not just any Dr. Pepper, cherry Dr. Pepper. The best part is the slight deep pepper burn in the after taste. It also has a medicinal/ natural cough drop taste slightly. I am not a huge Dr. Pepper fan, but this is worlds better than it.

Agua Enerviva Lo Cal Natural Energy Orange Passion +Guarana
Three things:
A. If your flavor has the word passion in it, I'm going to believe that it is passion fruit flavored. This doesn't have passion fruit in it, nor does it taste like it. Instead it has the traditional orange drink flavor of Tang.
B. I expected this to have an insane diet taste, but the mixing of the cane sugar and sucralose isn't bad at all. There isn't much diet flavor to it.
C. The only thing in it that makes it an energy drink is caffeine from guarana. I don't think that actually qualifies this as an energy drink. If it does, than Coke or Pepsi should also be considered.
Overall this isn't a bad drink. Sure the name of the flavor isn't very fitting, but I like the way it tastes. Also, they were able to keep the calories down without sacrificing too much of the taste. I can't argue with that.

Eric's Famous Energy Cola
Eric's Famous, we meet again! I have only ever found this at Whole Foods, but this time I found the other flavors besides root beer. I'm a big cola fan so finding new brands is always exciting to me. I came here to do some work and was going to get coffee, but then I saw this and decided to give it a try instead.
As far as energy drinks goes, it tastes great and is really effective. As far as cola goes…€¦ meh. I've had worse but I've also had much better. The vanilla and the goji cola have been recommended to me so I'm excited to try those next (saving the best for last perhaps?).

Hubert's Half & Half Lemonade Tea Original Green Tea
It has been in the 90's and 100's the past week in Portland. This is very unnatural for Portland, and it sucks. I hate the heat, which is why I moved here. All I've been doing is sitting in front of a fan and drinking water. I decided to venture out into the sun today and found this lemonade tea at a corner store I don't frequent much. Hubert's has never done me wrong so this was a good thing to stumble upon.
Now I'm a big fan of half and half's and I've tried a good number of them in my day. It's hard to get the tea to lemonade ratio perfect, but Hubert's did a damn good job. The lemonade is sweet and tangy, but still lets the mellow green tea flavor come through. If this was more widely available it would be my go-to half and half.

Trader Joe's Vintage Orange Cream Soda
I have one question; do you like creamsicles? If the answer is no, don't even bother with this soda, because that is what it is in a bubbly liquid form. If you do, then I urge you to get your hands on one of these. As I said it tastes like a creamsicle, but one that was made with actual oranges. It's probably the most natural tasting orange cream soda I've ever tasted, which is always a good thing.
An employee of Trader Joes once told me that all of their products were actually the ends of the batches of other company's products with a Trader Joes label on it. It makes sense. I want to know what company is the rightful heir to this cream fortune, because I'd guess we already reviewed it, and for some reason I think this version tastes better.

Simpson Spring Cream Soda
Not all cream soda's are created equal. We know this. It's not debatable. Some are amazing and delicious and some just taste like they were dragged through the river. Simpson Spring has always done us good as far as soda goes, so this cream soda already had a leg up before I opened it up.
Lo and behold, I was right. This bottle is delicious! If they were to add a tagline to this flavor, it would be "very vanilla". I don't know if I've ever had a cream soda that has this strong of a vanilla flavor to it. Some people might prefer more subtle cream sodas, but the creamier the better in my opinion.

Vita Lina Flaxseed Drink Pineapple
The consistency of Vita Lina drinks is so strange. From the look of it sloshing around the bottle you wouldn't think that it flowed any different from a random drink. You don't really notice the strangeness until it's in your mouth. It's not syrupy. It's more like a watered down gel, but the viscosity of it is not something that is normal in drinks. I would like to say that I got over it and that it makes the drink fun, but this is my third bottle of their products and I still am hesitant to drink them. I know they taste great, but the consistency just throws me off. It's not gross. It's just weird.
As far as the flavor goes, this has a real pineapple flavor to it, without the harsh edge of the fruit. It tastes like of like it should be a pineapple “drink” and not juice. I don't mean that in a bad way though. Sometimes pineapple juice can be far too acidic to drink a lot of. Once you convince yourself that you're over the texture of this, you can drink this all day long.

Hosmer Mountain Sarsaparilla
It's been a long time since I last took a trip to Hosmer Mountain. It's a great place to visit this time of year. The trees are full, the air is crisp, and there are not too many bugs around to bother you. Let's not forget the best part of Hosmer Mountain, the abundance of delicious soda everywhere. I managed to find this bottle of Sarsaparilla lying on a pad of moss under an oak tree. I had to wrestle it away from a raccoon, but it found another bottle a few minutes later so luckily it didn't claw my face off.
The soda you find at Hosmer Mountain is always delicious. This is definitely one of the best sarsaparilla's I've ever had. It's really smooth with a nice thick molasses taste to it. It's one of the sweetest bottles I've had, not to mention the strong vanilla aftertaste.
So if you ever find yourself in New England, do yourself a favor and climb Hosmer Mountain. Even if you hate nature, it's worth it to find the delicious bottles of soda scattered everywhere. Hurry before those pesky geo-cachers get them all.

Alo Escape Pineapple + Guava + Seabuckthorn Berry
I pose to you a question: When Kurt Russell was escaping from New York, and later L.A. would he have had an easier time if this drink were on hand? Would it have given him the refreshment he needed in such dire situations? Would he have just been able to trade a bottle of this for the president? I can only imagine that pineapples and guavas would be like gold on a prison island. If you lived in an area that was cut off from the world for years and suddenly someone dangled those fruits in front of you, I think you would be surprised as to what you would do to procure it. The joke would be on you though if you traded something as precious at the president for a bottle of this. You see there are four main ingredients in this bottle: aloe vera, pineapple and guava (which are all incredibly delicious), but then you also have sea buckthorn berry. I've never actually had one before, or heard of it until now, but a quick internet search tells me they are extremely healthy an also extremely tart. My question is if they are so tart why does this drink taste like someone took a delicious tropical aloe drink and mixed in a little bit of vegetable soup? There is just this little flavor of soup that makes this whole thing really, really weird. It counters the tropical flavor, and once you realize what the taste reminds you of it's hard to concentrate on any of the other flavors. It's still enjoyable, but it's just a weird drink. Snake Plissken sure pulled a fast one on those cons. Now he just needs to get the president back to his glider.
Oh yeah, in case you didn't already realize it this drink also has chunks of aloe in it. I normally love them, but they kind of add to the vegetable soup scenario in here.

Bundaberg Sparkling Drink Guava
This was really supposed to be one of the greatest things to ever grace my taste buds. The Bundaberg flavors I've had in the past have been nothing short of greatness. On top of that it has been scientifically proven that guavas are one of the greatest fruits to even ripen on this planet of ours. Even better this was the third part of a gift that my great friend Terry brought back from a work trip to Australia. As you can tell from my wording everything was aligned for greatness. If there was a god then this had to be the greatest soda to ever be produced. Apparently Homer Simpson's flat tax plan was correct, there is no god.
While this is a soda made with actual guava juice, and it is carbonated just like their other flavors, the other flavors masked the fermented taste that the yeast used caused. Unfortunate for me fruit juice doesn't do as good of a job masking that flavor. It turns out that Bundaberg Guava Soda tastes like a wine cooler. My friends who drank loved this. They were all raving about it. To me it was a disappointment that I still enjoyed. It still tasted like guava juice, just a little fermented, the way that Fentimans fruit flavors do. I will give the company credit for making the soda the old fashioned way though.

I will give the company credit for making the soda the old fashioned way though.

Kristall Swedish Lemon Lime Spritz
Kristall makes nothing but quality fruit sodas. I have loved every flavor of theirs that I have tried, and this one continues their streak of awesomeness. I was at a backyard going away party today and I drank way more pop than I normally do. I also ate nothing but chips and salsa all day (it's my curse) and now my stomach regrets it. This was my ladyfriend's drink of choice for the day, and she was kind enough to share it with me. We drank it early on in the party, so my taste buds were fresh and my stomach wasn't bloated. Lucky me.
Let's face it, 7Up and Sprite don't really taste anything like lemons or limes. Maybe there is a slight hint, but if you squeezed the juices from those two fruits, added them to some sparkling water and then mixed in a bunch of sugar it would not taste anything like those brands. Just ask Mitch Hedberg. That mixture would taste very similar to what is in this bottle. Kristall was able to capture with essence of those citrus fruits without the sourness. Good job guys.

Red Ribbon Soda Works Vanilla Cream Soda
I tried to drink a chocolate soda that completed disgusted me, so I decided to settle for an only slightly better vanilla one. When cream soda is done right, it can be one of the best pops out there. It can be so incredibly smooth and flavorful. Unfortunately Red Ribbon missed their mark with this one. It tastes a little too sweet than it should, and the vanilla tastes more like vanilla extract that it also should. It's a unique tasting soda, but it's not unique in a way that I like. I really just wanted to sit back and relax with a nice soda this evening, unfortunately the two that I opened both left me unsatisfied, and were left unfinished. Sorry guys, I'll drink your almond cream soda all day long, but I'll leave the vanilla cream on the shelf.

Nawgan Alertness Beverage Red Berries
As you may or may not know, the Thirsty Dudes love tacos. You know what I ate today on a little motorcycle excursion? A chorizo burrito. Oh man. Wonderful. Best three dollar taco I have had in a long time. Now I'm home, relaxing with a drink and a movie. What drink? Something fruity and something that will help me pay attention to this movie.
Editor Dan keeps us in mind when he goes out of town doing non-stop, awesome photography. He sends us pictures of drinks asking if we have reviewed them. Wherever he went last time was good to us. This was one of the drinks he brought back. I've got to say, "red berries" is a bit vague. It's kind of like a guessing game when it doesn't actually list the actual berries in question. Strawberries, cranberries, or raspberries; who knows? All, some, more less. Who knows? Honestly, who cares? This is a good drink. I should also preface that this drink is not for everyone. Why? Erythritol. I quite like it but I know a lot of people don't. It's pretty unarguably better than aspartame, Splenda, or stuff like that. Sorry, guys. You're old news. It's not your fault. Things get outdated. You had a good run.
Sweetener aside, it's good. It's a good berry flavor. I like it. We don't have it around here in Buffalo but if I saw it somewhere else, I might be willing to buy it. It's light, too. Not like a juice. More like a flavored water.
We've covered a lot of topics here, ladies and gentlemen. Tacos, sweeteners, berries, local city drink distribution, and so on. We also covered an otherwise good drink that you could enjoy if you can find the stuff.

Starbucks Refreshers Very Berry Hibiscus
Tommy goes to the tropics often. Ever since he saw that scene in Dumb and Dumber where the Hawaiian Tropics girls drive by in the bus, he knew that's where he wanted to visit. The "lady count" wasn't as high as he liked it but the weather and scenery was gorgeous so he doesn't complain. He travels there a few times a month and the locals have begun to recognize him and charge him a non-tourist rate on things like groceries and essentials.
Graduating from tourist to pre-local, he decided to celebrate by going to a local, non-franchise coffee shop that advertises that they harvest all their own stuff down to having a nearby coffee orchard, and roasting and brewing their own coffee beans. Tommy walked in and being the non-coffee drinker he was, he ordered a Very Berry Hibiscus juice. A couple minutes later he got an ice-cold glass with a sweet smelling nectar inside. He knew he had gone to the right place. He took one sip and loved it. It was lightly berry but still had a solid hibiscus flavor. It was advertised as sweetened with cane sugar and a Stevia sweetener.
He asked the waitress if they made it there and she leaned down and whispered in his ear that it was just a Starbucks powdered drink and that she told him because she knew he wasn't a local anymore. He lost a little bit of respect since they apparently are not all locally made items but he still went back since they didn't treat him like a filthy tourist.
