Cafe Bustelo Cool Cafe Mocha

Cafe Bustelo Cool Cafe Mocha
You're a classy lady and you deserved to be treated right. You don't need that guy over there, giant padded shoulder suit coat, slicked back hair, button up shirt with a skinny tie, hair as tall as the eye can see. You need a man like me. Baby, it's 1985 and it's time to stop getting with "Yes Men" and get with a man that will make you scream "yes!" That's where I come in. Baby, this dance club is playing the right songs, New Order, Joy Division, The Smiths, and we're getting down. Do you want something to drink, baby? I'll get you something nice.

What a strange bar. I got you something but it's not the martini a classy dame like you deserves. Honestly, strange bar. I mean who serves cold cans of mocha coffee at a dance club? Oh, yes, so I got you a cold can of mocha coffee. I've had this before but always at a corner store, never a club. Drink it. I know you've got a cosmopolitan there but just take a sip. It's good, right? It's a nice coffee taste but with a cocoa mix. It has a good coffee aftertaste, too, like real coffee. It's not too sweet that it tastes bad for you but is sweet enough that it's a nice little treat.

Wait, where are you going? Are you leaving with that grease ball? Really? Oh, he does have a rather gorgeous Lamborghini Countach. Why didn't you tell me? I would have saved two dollars on buying you that drink. Naw, you deserve it baby. Can you ask your man if he can take me for a spin? No? Alright. Welp, see you later.

Taste Nirvana Thai Coffee Latte

Taste Nirvana Thai Coffee Latte
Long nights. I've got clients asking me for sites, girlfriend asking me for sites, and personal "pet project" sites all going on at the same time. These long nights turn in to long days. The long days call for some sort of coffee drink.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; I don't get picked up by drinks. I don't "feel" coffee drinks or energy drinks. Either that of I'm so disconnected from the way my body feels I don't feel highs or lows from stimulates blood sugar. I know I periodically feel "the shakes" but that typically means I need to eat because I stupidly forgot to within the last sixteen hours or so. I do that. I forget. I'm human.

All the same, I was feeling a coffee drink and just so happened to have one. Now I love Thai tea. It's a wonderful treat whether you're enjoying some pho or enjoying a Hot Pocket. What? Barbecue Hot Pockets are nothing short of a treasure. This is less of a treat. Good, but it falls short of its English ingrediented brethren. It's coffee, cream, and sugar. No exotic spices or anything. It claims that it's made with Thai coffee but not being a coffee aficionado, I don't know the difference when masked with full cream and sugar. It's good though. It's no Thai tea, but what is? Am I right? You over there in the "Cat in the Hat" hat. Am I right? Am I right in thinking that it's no longer 1998 and you had your two weeks to legitimately wear that hat and now it's far past out of date? I submit that I am. Take that thing off, will you? Oh, dyed hair put in tiny knots and held together in small, multi-color rubber bands. You're really a piece of work aren't you? Yeah, Korn was great. You're right and I can't argue with that. Carry on.

Frizz Coffee

Frizz Coffee
I just found my new favorite drink. I wish I could say I was exaggerating but I'm really not. This is exactly what I always hoped a coffee soda would taste like. It has a really strong coffee taste, but it is also sweet and bubbly. It almost has a cream soda taste to it as well. I just passed this bottle around a room of skeptical people and they all said it was delicious.

This little bottle was $2 but it is so worth it. It would be awesome if they sold this in larger bottles because I feel like I'm drinking all 6 oz of this way too fast and I want it to last forever. Isn't a normal cup of coffee like 12oz? That would be a good size. I'd pay $4 for that, probably far too often than I'd like to admit.

Dunkin' Donuts Coolatta Oreo in Coffee

Dunkin' Donuts Coolatta Oreo in Coffee
Hey dude. Check out that chick right there. So hot. I'm so glad we came to "Big Wet" instead of going to that theme park with the water park in it. They've got a Dunkin' Donuts right across the street. Do you want anything? I'll get my hand stamped and come right back.

Here you go. Oh, this? It's an Oreo Coolatta. It's pretty good. Want to try it? Yeah, it tastes mostly like Oreo cookies and not a lot like coffee. Would I have appreciated a bit more coffee? Yeah. Did someone just scream? Maybe it was some kids going down a waterslide. Yeah, I would have appreciated a bit more coffee but look at all the cookie in here. It's a fine grind, but I've got to say that there are two or three ground up cookies in this drink. It's sweet and man is it big. This twenty-four ouncer is a medium. No one needs this much but you know what? It's hot out.

Dude! Did you see that!? That! Right there! That hot chick is missing a leg! She had one a minute ago and now she doesn't. That was a hot leg. Why am I making jokes? Is that kid missing a hand? What the heck is going on? Is that pool filled with blood? Woah! Did you see that?! A piranha just jumped out of the water and bit that girl's neck. We've got to get out of here. Where's Carl? Is he still in the pool? Carl!! Carl!! Get out of the pool! No, you are not safe on that raft. Those piranhas are everywhere and they're eating people. Get out of the pool. Yes, you can have the rest of this Coolatta just get out. Oh, great. You see, Carl, you idiot? You stayed in and now you've got a piranha on your arm. Get that thing off and let's just get out of here. It's still nice out. We can still make it to that theme park and go on that roller coaster once we get you all bandaged up. Man, that piranha did a number on you. Just put some of these napkins on it. It will be fine.

Tim Horton's Iced Cappuccino Mocha

Tim Horton's Iced Cappuccino Mocha
It appeared that the only place for John to get wonderful, cold coffee drinks was Asian markets. He didn't mind since they came in great little cans of all shapes and no matter which one he picked, they were all about the same and they were all good. That is until he took a trip to the Great White North, Canada.

He went to go to a conference on fishing lures when some fishing friends coerced him to go to a place called Tim Horton's. He went in the summer when it was very hot outside and thought that straight, hot coffee would have been a terrible choice. He saw that they were advertising a new iced mocha so he decided to give that a go. Two minutes later he was in heaven. It was cold, chocolaty, and made from an honest coffee. Not to mention, for the sweet tooth that he had from time to time, they put chocolate whipped cream with chocolate syrup on top. Whenever he decided he needed a break from the coffee, he pulled the straw out a bit and had some chocolate. It was like they thought of everything.

John had a great time in Canada. He learned a lot about fishing up north, what lures are coming out, and what place to go to when he wants a good mocha. Canada is alright in John's book.

Dr. Chao Vegan Coffee Almond Milk Mocha

Dr. Chao Vegan Coffee Almond Milk Mocha
Doctor, Doctor! The city's sick! It's summer and all the coffee is making everyone overheated. Won't these people learn that drinking a hot beverage when it's 80 degrees out is not good for you? Do you have a remedy!?

Iced coffee! Yes, this will work. Mmmmm, it's made with almond milk, and is mocha flavored. It tastes like chocolate milk, but sadly there's not much coffee flavor to it. I know it's in there because I suddenly feel energized. But with a coffee drink, I am hoping for some sort of coffee flavor to it.

So thank you Dr. Chao for saving the people of Portland from this heat. Your service to the community will not go unnoticed.

Dr. Chao Vegan Coffee Almond Milk Vanilla

Dr. Chao Vegan Coffee Almond Milk Vanilla
I am a vegan iced coffee drinker. Sure it's easy to go to most coffee shops and get an iced coffee with soy milk, but what about at the grocery store? Coffee drinks have been having more of a presence lately in the coolers at stores recently. At first it was just the Starbucks Frappicino's, but as you can tell by our ever-growing coffee section many more companies have stepped up to the plate.

That's all great, except 99% of them are made with dairy milk. Every once in a while there will be a black iced coffee drink but I'd rather drink battery acid than black coffee. Then my dream came true when I found this bottle at the co-op. Not only was it made with almond milk, but it actually says VEGAN in bold letters across the front. Dr. Chao gets points with me because a lot of companies are scared of using the word vegan sometimes in fear of scaring away those who aren't (because you know, all vegan food is bland and gross).

As I expected, this drink is awesome. This was free of the gross chalky taste a lot of vegan milk drinks have. It is very comparable to an iced vanilla latte you would get at a coffee shop (in taste and price since this was only $2.99). I don't know how it compares to a dairy based drink, but I feel like even non-vegans would really enjoy this because almond milk is delicious. I'm really looking forward to checking out the rest of the drinks by Dr. Chao, especially the coconut milk based coffee drinks.

Monster Java Loca Moca

Monster Java Loca Moca
Today I turn 33. I really couldn't care less about my birthday. As Patton Oswalt so wisely pointed out there are only 20 birthdays that really count, and I have 7 more years until I get to celebrate again. So logic would show that today is a day like no other. Logic would be flawed today. Sure my birthday doesn't matter, but more important than that, and just about anything else, is that the new Batman movie comes out tonight. Any celebrations that I may have, or any gifts I receive are not because of my birthday, they are because of Batman Day aka the best holiday of all.

Since my birthday doesn't matter, I worked today. I woke up and printed a buttload of shirts in my shop, which gets way to hot this time of year. It really is exhausting and since I am going to see The Dark Knight Rises at midnight (and I'm sure it will be three hours long) I decided to give this Monster Java a try. I like it. It tastes like any other prepackaged chocolate-coffee drink. I always thought that taurine was what gave energy drinks that weird chemical taste, but there is just as much in this can as there is in other energy drinks, and this just tastes like over-sweetened coffee with chocolate mixed in. I am grateful for that. If it had that energy drink taste this would be puke sauce in a can. If you are someone who likes your coffee black, you probably think this is far too sweet. Actually, you probably would be the type of person that wouldn't bother with any sort of fancy coffee at all. This is very sweet. It's actually sweeter than even I, who doesn't really like coffee much, would want it to be. I do enjoy it though, and I'm sure it will help to keep me up and alert to watch the “breaking of the bat.” Seriously, you have no idea how pumped I am to see Bane wreak havoc on Gotham. It's going to be so sweet!

McDonalds McCafe Chocolate Chip Frappe

McDonalds McCafe Chocolate Chip Frappe
I've been doing a lot of thinking about McDonald's as of late. I am thirty. When I was a kid, my parents would take us to McDonald's. It was an event. It wasn't a "my family is poor and we can only afford McDonald's" routine. We were a family of six and food gets expensive to everyone, plus, fifteen plus years ago, we didn't know what we do today about McDonald's so to take a family there for dinner wasn't frowned down upon. Sure, now I eat at McDonald's two to three times a year now that I'm a crappy adult, but McDonald's is trying. To all of the McHaters out there, they're trying. You realize that this isn't Mama Mia's Pizzeria, right? They don't have like three restaurants outside of the South Bend Indiana city line. They have over 33,000 locations worldwide and when they have to make a change, they have to roll it out to almost all those locations. When people decided that the McNuggets weren't safe for consumption and they rolled out the "100% Chicken" McNuggets, that was a huge ordeal that has to take months if not years, to deploy.

So McDonald's is trying. They've got a new, fancy coffee shop built into stores and have dabbled with some Angus beef and more quality ingredients than the stuff they've been using the past two decades. Even people that hate McDonald's have to give them credit for trying to compete while simultaneously trying to increase the quality of their food while still keeping prices low. Not an easy task. I've been thinking and reminiscing about my youth inside of McDonald's.

While reading The Impulsive Buy's awesome review of this drink, I decided I needed it. I didn't ride my bike to work so that I could drive to work and stop at McD's and get this drink. I'm happy I stopped. You know why? Well it's simple. It's because this is a very good drink. If I could extend on what the lovely and talented Marvo said, I would say, in true Thirsty Dudes fashion, that this drink tastes like the minds behind Caramello created a limited edition "coffee" version. You've got a chocolate and coffee outside and the standard, delicious caramel inside. Every once in a while you get the rather pleasurable experience of sucking up some baby sized chocolate chips in your mouth through the straw.

McDonald's. I have eaten at your locations less and less through the years but that doesn't mean that I have given up on you. You are a giant cooperation, but you're not evil. You do what you have to do when you are that big. Cuts have to happen and quality has to go down. It's natural. Your nuggets are wonderful and I still love McChicken sandwiches. You're alright in my book. Also, I doubt you're hurting so don't take what people say so hard.

Starbucks Frappuccino Mocha Cookie Crumble

Starbucks Frappuccino Mocha Cookie Crumble
It was a rough day for Taylor. Her car broke down in a small town. This town was renowned for it's shops and restaurants but Taylor thought otherwise. Taylor, a big city girl at heart found that there was nothing to do. None of the shops catered to her expensive tastes. Taylor was a Tiffany's girl. Taylor wore Chanel. Taylor wore Marc Jacobs. Taylor did not wear Hanes, regardless of how great the cotton was supposed to be. She was very hungry and decided to get something to eat and noticed that all of the restaurants served primarily fried food. Chicken, french fries, and grits; a food she had only heard about and never seen.

While walking through the small town, she felt unsafe. Passerby gave her awkward glances. She clutched her Michael Kors purse close to her as she walked the dusty streets. Her white dress had gotten filthy by the dirt that the cars were kicking up. Her feet, although wrapped in the finest Manolo's, had turned black with filth. Not to mention that she had sweat due to the heat and lack of shade and air conditioning. Men were seen dobbing their browns with handkerchiefs due to the heat.

Finally, a sight for sore eyes, Taylor spotted the best thing since she broke down in that one horse town; a Starbucks. She practically ran inside and kissed the barista on the lips. She ordered the most city thing she could think of, a mocha cookie crumble Frappuccino. She sat down in the air-conditioned location that was practically empty with her drink and let out a sigh as she took her first sip. This drink was decked out to the nines. Chocolate, mocha, chocolate chip crumbles, chocolate whipped cream all mixed together into a delightful treat. It was a treat. She loved every sip. It was sweet, chocolate, and coffee all in one mix. Her bad day appeared to disappear as she finished it.

Just as she took her last sip, the mechanic called and told her that her car was fixed and that it was a small issue that he had seen "city folk" come in with previously so it wasn't a major deal. She was very happy that everything worked out in the end. She was happy to leave the town and go back to the city but she won't soon forget the day that Starbucks almost saved her life.

Starbucks Refreshers Strawberry Lemonade

Starbucks Refreshers Strawberry Lemonade
Do you know how coffee is produced? I certainly had no idea until about a year ago when I visited a coffee plantation. Okay, I had an inkling when we got those Bai drinks to review that are made with coffee fruit. The point is that it grows on bushes and there are these little green berries. Once the berries ripen they turn red, and are harvested. Inside the berries are the coffee seeds or beans, which are dried and roasted to brew the coffee that you drink for your get up and go.

When the coffee berries are still green they still contain a decent amount of caffeine, so Starbucks, amongst other companies, have started using them to make alternative energy drinks. These drinks aren't quite coffee and they certainly aren't traditional energy drinks, but they still give you a nice little boost without any added chemicals.

This little guy right here is quite aromatic. As soon as I cracked it open my car was greeted with the scent of strawberries. It's one of their weird two tier flavored drinks. While it's in your mouth it tastes like a nice watered down, carbonated strawberry lemonade. It's not tart at all, but it still has that lemonade flavor. Then when you swallow the slight bitterness of the coffee berry kicks in, and the berry flavor fades away. When I was at that coffee plantation I tried a green coffee berry and it was incredibly bitter on it's own. The sweetener in here takes care of that a bit, but it lingers some in the aftertaste.

I do wish this was stronger on the lemonade side of things, but for an energy drink that doesn't taste like your run of the mill toxic garbage, I can handle what they give me.

Tim Horton's Iced Cappuccino Brownie Caramel

Tim Horton's Iced Cappuccino Brownie Caramel
As the sun shines down on us on this beautiful Friday morning, it can only mean one thing: it is time to get some doughnuts, or as the laymen spell it "donuts," for work. While I was there, I couldn't help but get this drink. I got it once before but didn't review it. Hey, a man needs a break from reviewing everything he drinks.

This should be noted, so I'm noting it for you here. The first drink I got had "brownie" crumbles on it. I quoted brownie because Oreo cookie crumbs are not brownie. It's either that or just the crustiest brownie crushed into the smallest crumbs you've ever seen. You might expect a brownie chunk or something. Small. You're not greedy or stupid. What? Is Tim Horton going to put a quarter of a brownie into every drink? You're crazy if you think that. Crazy. Saying crumbs is even an understatement. Also, they put so much on that I opened my window and blew half of them off. Not because I didn't want them but because they were quickly filling up my lap and my car seat. I can't have that. That describes volume one of my brownie caramel excursion. Volume 2? Thick fudge syrup. I was fine with it. I have a mental image of brownie and syrup isn't it but I'm not Webster or Encyclopedia Britanica so I don't give a rip. Fudge. Who's arguing about it? No one.

Caramel? Yeah it's there, but I didn't know there was a shortage on the stuff. They squirt like a tiny line on the lid and call it a day. Look, I'm not ordering something prefaced with "Brownie Caramel" and looking for something healthy. You call this "supreme?" Load it up, son. You're not getting paid on caramel reserves.

There is a fair amount of pretty thick chocolate whipped cream and you can either munch it off the top or stir it in and creamify your drink. I do a half and half and get a big mouthful of whipped cream and smooth out my drink.

Once you get past the decor, it's the same iced cappuccino that you've grown to love. Like a mocha Icee. It's good and I don't expect them to change the base for every iteration of the drink.

This is good. It's probably terrible for you and anyone who gets something larger than a small is masochistic. Caramel, barely fudge, chocolate, coffee? How can that be alright for you. It's a treat. Get it when you're having a great day or a terrible day. Nothing in between.

Frio Cappuccino Mocha

Frio Cappuccino Mocha
I've been waking up a lot earlier than normal for the past month or two. I'm sure my early is sleeping in for most people, but I've been getting up without an alarm at 9/9:30 and for me that is a miracle. I'm used to getting up at 11 or noon. What can I say I live a life of leisure? I blame the gym for this. Damn getting healthy making me wake up early. I'm actually more than okay with it. I've been getting more things done in the morning and that works for me. The only downfall is that when my ladyfriend and I have our nightly Venture Bros watching, I've been nodding out by one (which may also late for most people). I'm also okay with that for the most part, but tomorrow morning I'm going on tour with Cheap Girls, so I feel like I should be awake to hang out while I'm home. My solution was to drink this coffee drink at 10pm. Yeah, I'm not going to be sleeping tonight, but I can sleep in the van so who cares?

My solution drink is exactly how I like my coffee drinks: overly sweet and tasting of chocolate more than coffee. Before I shook this up there was actually a layer of chocolate at the bottom that needed to be mixed in. In reality this tastes more like chocolate milk with a splash of coffee in it than coffee with a hint of chocolate. If you ever wanted to start to get a child hooked on coffee I suggest starting them out with a nice bottle of Frio!

Simpson Spring Coffee Soda

Simpson Spring Coffee Soda
It's well known that many people out there are straight up coffee addicts. Perhaps it started like it was in the olden days with a mug for breakfast. Then it grew to a mug or two at the office. Now those same people drink it all day, everyday. I am amazed that people can do this can still fall asleep at night with no problems. It boggles (bottles) the mind.

So yes, people love their coffee. In the winter it's not a problem because it helps to warm them up and keep them moving. On days like today when it's a broiler out the last thing I would want to do it drink a nice hot mug of coffee. Sure you can go to a coffee shop and get a fancy iced coffee of some sort, but does iced coffee fit at a backyard bbq? I think not. Simpson Spring has the solution to this problem. They have created a coffee soda that is pretty insane. When you twist off that cap it smells like a bag of coffee grounds, which is one of the best smells ever. The taste is also surprisingly good. It tastes like someone somehow brewed coffee with carbonated water and then added a bit of sugar to it. It was refreshing, yet it still filled the need some of the people I was with had for their 4PM mug. The flavor is definitely more coffee than soda, but it's still carbonated. It basically tastes exactly like you would want it to. I'm not a huge coffee fan myself, but I really liked it and those of me that dig on the bean absolutely loved it. I'd say it's a fairly perfect drink.

Frio Cappuccino Coffee

Frio Cappuccino Coffee
Dear employees at this fine company. I have an admission to make. Look folks, I should tell you that I am not the best as measuring. I have ruined every cake I've ever made. I have made a lot of money in this business and have bought a very nice oven and it works perfectly. I cannot blame the oven for my consistently burnt cookies and cupcakes. It's the fact that I get all messed up and backwards when it comes to teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, grams, yards, gallons, ounces, and the like. For that, I apologize in advance.

The reason I bring you in here is because I have once again failed the exam and messed up the mix. For this run of our Frio Cappuccino, I have calculated that we add more water than we're supposed to add. There are pros and cons to this. Pro: we get to make more and the cost per bottle is less. Con: we get a watered down cappuccino. Now I've tasted it and I've got to be honest, it's not terrible but it tastes like it should have more body to it. I might add less sugar, too, but that's not why I called you in here.

This isn't going to close the factory. We've done well for ourselves, but we might make a little less on this than we did on any of our previous endeavors. If someone could just review my math next time we prepare to put a drink out, that would be great. There is pizza in the break room for anyone interested. If you aren't interested, why aren't you interested? It's pizza.

Stumptown Cold Brew Coffee

Stumptown Cold Brew Coffee
Stumptown Coffee is what made me fall in love with coffee. I recently moved back to Portland, OR, the home of Stumptown Coffee. I would love to say it was because I missed it so much, but in reality it was to open a custom button/zine store with my friend Alex Wrekk called Portland Button Works.

We recently signed a lease on a storefront and have been slowly moving things into it this week. I felt it was fitting that the first drink I reviewed here was a drink I've been waiting to try for a long time. Stumptown came out with this lovely glass bottle of coffee just before I moved back to Buffalo for 10 months. I didn't get a chance to try it before I left, but now I finally found a nice cold bottle.

I don't know much about cold brewing coffee, besides that it tastes better than other methods of iced coffee. After opening this bottle, it smelled like I just walked into a coffee shop. It has that classic/awesome coffee aroma. I usually drink my coffee with soy/almond milk and a little sugar, but under certain circumstances I can tolerate black coffee. I wish all black coffee tasted like this, because it's incredible. It's really strong, but has so much flavor. I don't know blends of coffee well enough to wax on about the different subtleties in the beans. All I know is that this is delicious, and I would probably drink it every day if it weren't $3.50 a bottle.

Frio Cappuccino Vanilla

Frio Cappuccino Vanilla
Gentlemen we are in a predicament. The entire 90's coffee shop fad is finally collapsing and it is seriously affecting the industry. Sure we still have all of the customers that we got hooked back then, but how are we to hook young kids. The whole attraction to the counter culture has gone out the window. In fact the counter culture has become the main culture. The idea of a man with an orange Mohawk and a boa constrictor around his neck has become commonplace. Coffee shops used to be a mysterious place that was for the artists and the “freaks.” Now they are full of college kids with laptops. The youth doesn't want to be like college kids. That is what is expected of them. They are attracted to the cool and unusual. On top of that it seems that a lot of diner style restaurants are putting a ban on kids just hanging out there. Where are earth are these kids supposed to get hooked on coffee? Our quick fix solution is to create and market drinks that are coffee based, but also that don't exactly taste like coffee. We'll make the labels look attractive and hopefully it will become an item of interest for youngsters. Our research shows that while kids could care less about the word “latte” that “cappuccino” is still alluring to them. It sounds grown up and dangerous. Due to this our first beverage in this line will be a cappuccino. The problem is that kids need to be acclimated to the taste of coffee, so we're going to put a bunch of cream and sugar in it, and to top it off a healthy dollop of vanilla flavoring. The result is closer to a vanilla hot chocolate than coffee, but the kids will associate it with coffee, and the trace amounts of coffee flavor in it will work on their taste buds. Gentlemen, I think we're on to something here and this could save our entire industry for future generations. Now someone get me a cup of black coffee, this is really a drink for kids and people who aren't serious coffee drinkers.

Starbucks Refreshers Orange Melon

Impatience. We've learned to treat this as anything but a virtue. Like that time that Mitch Hedberg told the wino who he saw eating grapes “Dude, you have to wait!” Apparently the folks at Starbucks never got that memo and they harvested their coffee beans too early. You see the little buggers were still green. They were in no shape to be roasted and eventually brewed into a $4 cup of coffee at one of their stores. The thing is that unlike everydayman the Starbucks head honchos are an industrious type. They knew that the green coffee still has high caffeine content. They didn't want their crop to go to waste, so armed with this knowledge they decided to make a chilled energy drink. They took some sparkling water, mixed in some orange, apple, grape and watermelon juice, and then put in the extract from the green coffee and some other ingredients to help create energy (physicists be damned). For an afterthought due to impatience it is crazy how good these drinks ended up tasting. It almost tastes like a mellow Orangina, with a little bit of a watermelon kick. Unlike almost every other energy drink in the world, this one tastes like you're really just drinking some sparkling juice. It also has a low calorie sweetener in it, but the taste of it is nicely hidden. It's only really noticeable slightly in the aftertaste. Well played Starbucks. It's shocking that a drink in one of your shops costs about as much as three of these did in the supermarket, and these taste way better.

Emmi Caffe Latte Cappuccino

Programmers are strange cats. Not all of them but some of them. I once did a website for a website company. I know, I know. Seems dumb. Well it was dumb. Why they didn't do it internally is beyond me. I then later went to apply to a job there and didn't get it. It was a bummer because it is the best paying place for programmers in the area but it's kind of a dead end. It's one of those places that are like the equivalent of a call center where you're just with your computer in a cubicle, cut off from the world with just endless, monotonous coding. Not for me.

Point being is that I went there and took a tour when I was meeting with some people and saw the senior developer office and it was lined with cans of pop. It might have been assorted pop or it might have been exclusively Mountain Dew, but either way the entire wall was covered. Desk: covered. Floor: littered. This place also had coffee on the cheap and people drank it by the gallon. Problem with that is that you turn into one of those munches that is always drinking coffee and feel like they need it to survive. Blood, air, and coffee. It's annoying. You know what else is annoying while I'm on the topic? Twelve years old kids drinking coffee. You're too young. Cut that crap out. You're going to be a terrible adolescent. More than that is when twelve years old kids are drinking coffee with their parents. I've noticed that it is mostly with moms. I'm not saying that from a sexist standpoint, I'm saying it from an observation standpoint. Moms give kids coffee way too soon and they are just setting them up for one crappy kid.

So. Topic. Coffee. Actually cappuccino. This cappuccino is good. It's more coffee than those cappuccino powders that I used to love. It's a pretty standard, pre-packaged cappuccino flavor, but it tastes genuine, as if it was made from actual coffee, like Emmi has their priorities in check and are passionately brewing coffee one pot at a time for use in this drink. It's cold and sweetened, something that typical coffee or cappuccino isn't by standard. Maybe that's what I don't like about coffee is the temperature and bitterness. Dude, coffee isn't for me.

Starbucks Refreshers Raspberry Pomegranate

Starbucks Refreshers Raspberry Pomegranate
Corporations, man. They're eating our society up. Everywhere you look there is another chain restaurant eating up the once freethinking eatery that was there before. It's a plague on our society. Everyone is a capitalistic pig whose only concern is sex and money. Everyone just wants to make a quick buck using as little of their brain as possible by buying someone else's franchise and cashing in on the lemmings. The sad part is that they will succeed because we're conditioned to accept these franchise STDs as common in our lazy society. What ever happened to small, mom-and-pop stores? There was nothing wrong with them and there was a helpful, local, friendly feeling to them. Now everything is painted in a coat of cold steel and wood and cookie cutter'd out as if corporate America is just churning out mediocrity to feed it's overpopulated, suburban sprawl.

What? I'm kind of in the middle of something here. Can I help you? What? You expect me to drink this? Starbucks is some of the worst people that existed. It's roots were hardily into West Coast soil but once they found out they could make a buck or two expanding, they littered America with their stores, merchandise, and cups, filling up landfills and valuable property, raising the cost of living and pushing the less fortunate so the wealthy can devour mediocre fare like so many before them. Fine, since you said "please" I will drink this for you to prove to you how terrible and awfully average Starb....ohh...this is actually good....er...I mean. This is alright for a corporation. The raspberry is pretty strong and the aftertaste or pomegranate is pretty refreshing. Only 60 calories per can? Oh, Stevia. Cool. That's a pretty, mostly all-natural drink that uses coffee like Bai to infuse energy into their drink naturally. It's nicely, sweetened and the Reb-A isn't overpowering and overly sweet.

Starbucks is a plague on society not unlike boils and frogs, but I've got to admit, this is really good. I guess a company that makes this can't be all bad. They've got to have some people working there that understand "good" and I will try and keep a little bit more of an open mind.

Did someone say something about WalMart back there? Are you carrying a WalMart bag? Oh, sir, did you just open a thirty to forty minute can of worms. Please, take a seat. I've got some things to say.
